Greddy pully kit w/airpump

Does anybody run it this way. I did a search that came up with nothing. I would like to know the belt size I need to run this kit with the airpump. I need to pass emissions and I like my air anyway. This is just the waterpump and alternator, no main drive. My other thought was an rx-8 airpump. Is anybody running that yet?

No such thing.

The point of the greddy kit is to LOSE the air pump.

You like your air? Are you getting airpump and airconditing mixed up here?

Pettit sells a pulley kit which retains the airpump. As far as I know, it's the only underdrive kit that retains the airpump (which is what I'm using):

No, I think he meant that he like to breathe the air here on Earth, and would rather not add more polution than necessary to it

yes, I meant the air I breath. I try to maintain some respect for my grandchildrens childrens breathing quality. Anyways...I know the greddy kit is to get rid of it. I was given the set as a christmas present, but I would like to keep my airpump. I just need to get a slightly bigger than stock belt to keep it. I was hoping there was someone who has already done this so that I don't have to measure and trial and error different belts.

Thanks

Greg

the whole point of getting the greddy pulleys is to get rid of the air pump. the belt that comes with the kit tracks differently. If you want to keep your airpump then you dont need anything to do that.

do you just like the looks of the pulleys or what?

As previously stated, the set was a christmas gift. The point of the pully set is to underdrive the waterpump and alternator and so happens to eliminate the airpump as well. Otherwise they'd just sell the correct sized belt. if I just liked the looks of the pully's I'd pull my stock ones off and powdercoat them to look like that.

But I've got the kit already and I want the airpump. So I need to go to the local auto store and get a belt that is sized to do this. If somebody has already done this that saves me the trouble of having to measure it up and get several belts to trial and error this. So back to the original question. Has anyone done this before that can give me the correct size.

if no one has done it before an easy way to measure the belt lenth that you are going to need it to get a piece of string and rap it around the pullys the exact same way the belt would route, then cut the string and measure it, bring it with you and the measurement to the autoparts store and they should be able to give you the correct belt from that. That way you dont have to spend extra money and waste time making trips to and from the autoparts store.

Holy crap.. I don't know why would you want to go thru trouble to put those pulleys??? just sell the damn thing.. get the money and buy something else you might need.. We ALL need something else on these cars..

I guess you might want to under pull your water pump.. But if you aren't going to run it hard, shouldn't really matter..

I'm probably going to just look into an rx8 or GM electric airpump anyway. If/when I eventually go single turbo, I'll want to use that. I know I'll get a lot of flames about restriction and crap like that, but I've seen the crap that comes out of a car without a cat and 1)I'm not keen on the brown stains on the bumper. and 2) While I don't come close to anything like greenpeace or some crap like that, I still think it's important to keep the air clean if we can. I'm not even sure I'll keep the pulleys yet. But if I do I want to be prepared.
