Greddy Elbow Install?????

When Replacing your stock elbow with the Greddy elbow what do you do with the hose that connects to the stock one at the bend? Do you have to drill a new hole in the greddy elbow for it to fit?

Thanks

I believe that the hose that goes into the back of the elbow has nothing to do with EGR. It's part of the air bypass system that raises your idle to 3000rpms when the engine is cold started to speed up warm up and thereby reduce emissions. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Since I have to comply with CA emissions I just took the stock elbow and the greddy elbow to a machine shop and told them to weld on a nipple just like the stock elbow onto the greddy elbow. Works fines.

Or, as was said above, you could just block it off.

I live in CA also, and have to stick to their damn emission laws. I did the same thing you did, but did it at home and it works just fine.

you need to buy a block off plate for the aws and remove the UIM to install it and then you can put on the greddy elbow.

Thanks for the help. I have a polished UIM that I bought from a guy and he has it blocked off already so that works great. I didnt know if it " had to be there." Being in Louisiana they dont give a **** about poluting the earth so it's coming off. Thank you for your replies.

I Welded on a nipple on mine, but I get a blipping idle when the fans kick in. It's weird, so I just block it off, works fine now.

Anybody know where I could get my hands on the HKS unit that go with the V-mount? I want to make My own custom v-mount, but with the HKS elbow.
