Get a set of block off plates and block it off. Or for the short term stick a spark plug in the hose.

i currently have a mini air-breather filter but will block-off eventually. But ultimately, you don't want it to vent/exposed to air.

SD, that's one of the things I'm taking care of while my stuff is apart. I got the Banzai kit, and it's awesome!

That would be the double throttle, not the AWS system.

If I could piggyback on this for a second, what do you guys usually do with the connectors that attach to the UIM once the block off plates are installed? (i.e. ISC)

From what I recall when using the BOPs, the only connector that attached to the UIM was the the ISC .

As people have stated the ISC stays, otherwise the connectors can just be left, they are under the UIM and you wouln't see them anyway.

I was told that with a PFC, you can delete the ISC.

once A PFC is utilized in place of the OEM ecu the AWS is no longer a factor. thus one should be able to plug or put in place a block off plate. i was interested in knowing what people were doing with their air supply line in to the AWS.
interesting!!!

^ The block off plates come with a plate for the pipe as well.

I have not heard of deleting the ISC with the PFC, it seems counter intuitive to me as that is the solenoid that the PFC would need to use to control idle conditions. I'm sure you can set your idle under certain conditions with just the set screw and throttle plate adjustment, but then there would be no way to change it for different load conditions aka A/C and headlights etc...

Okay, if that's the case, does anyone have any good tips for removing permatex from a UIM?

The ELD unit still kicks the idle up when the fans, defrost etc are turned on. We eliminate the ISC on half the cars that come through the shop. The more stock setups that are still running sequential twins we leave it on but anythign that has been simplified, non-sequential or single turbo the ISC is removed.

I did not know that, where is the ELD unit located? Is it a solenoid?

Sorry it is E/L unit, It is the electrical load control system. Page F-135 of factory service manual. It is located near the ECU inside the car.
