Grafting the OEM aero blade

Ever since seeing this thread a few years ago, I've had the itch in the back of my head to try and get my hands on one of the Mazda wipers, though I kind of accepted it wouldn't happen after finding out they're NLA. That was until I found out you could still get the RHD version pretty easily. And here I stand at the edge of the rabbit hole...

I picked up a set of the new superseding wipers TA02-67-330A-9U and want to figure out how to graft the aero blade onto it in a cleanest way possible. I doubt anyone else has gone this far into the weeds, but thought I'd see if anyone else has tried this already

And before you ask "Why I would waste time and effort on a such a small, unless thing like this?". This is what I love about builds. Going down to the minutia on something that only a fraction of owners would even notice. Those seemingly insignificant details that are the "if you know you know" type deals are my favorite things to put effort into and get right. And the satisfaction when someone else notices and appreciates the same details is unbeatable. My friends sometimes joke I'm a Volkswagen guy that went the wrong way around the globe and ended up in Japan instead of Germany. I fully expect to be the only one to have gotten to this point, and am more than ready for the bewildered chuckles I am sure a few users will have while reading this, but I too also recognize the absurdity of this project lol.

Any ideas are appreciated (and you're free to poke fun as well )

I got one of the OEM wing blades back when you could still get them new. BTW it's driver's side only for the wing, passenger does not have one.

PIAA makes AMAZING wiper blades, they are by far the best ones on the market hands down. If you do get that going you can get their inserts to replace the rubber whenever it's needed instead of replacing the whole thing.

The PIAA winged wiper blade may or may not fit an FD, it's also funny sometimes with RHD wiper blades if they are designed to go either way.

I may give the PIAA a try if I can't figure out anything with the OEM blade. The only difference really between the RHD and LHD is which way the clip body goes.

I wonder if you could get the RHD blade copied by 3D printing but mirror imaged for LHD.

The blade itself isn't the problem, it's the metal mounting flanges that are bent from the main wiper body. I'll probably just end up designing and printing some clips that wrap around the body.

I nearly threw mine away when I was fixing up my car. Turns out someone had posted a WTB ad, and I actually went dumpster diving in my trash can to fetch it for him.
Didn't know they were uncommon or rare, kind of wishing i hadn't sold it off!

It's one of those things that a vast majority of owners don't care or even know about. I think its one of those little quirks that seem ubiquitous with 90's cars. These small things that make people go "huh that's interesting" or "what is the point of this, why was it included" and that's really the only reason I want to try to make it work on my car. I just think they're neat.

I also posted a WTB ad for one a while ago too lol. Had no luck with mine however and now I'm here.
