got a faspac cf hood

I bought a faspac carbon fiber hood and it arrived today. I am very happy with it, a nice sublte style much like the mazdaspeed hood. I knew that the quality wasn't going to be 100%, but it is definetly a good hood with no major flaws. I had planned on painting over the carbon fiber anyways, so any imperfections will be taken care of. It only weights 25lbs and is very durable feeling. The vents are good sized as well which was what I was after to begin with. I can't wait to get it on to do some temperature analysis. Defenitly a good buy

I won't have any good pics untill it is on the car. I paid $575 which included shipping and some really nice lock hood pins.

Doesn't the stock aluminum hood only weigh 20 lbs?

Ok, guess what guys. I mis-quoted what I was informed the hood weight was. It was mass weighed at 20lbs for shipping. But I weighed it and the stock hood to compare and found that the faspac hood weighs 16lbs and the stock hood weighs 23lbs.

I used to have that hood on my old RX-7. Few fitment problems, mine was one of the first. I'm sure they've fixed most of them now.

pretty significant drop in temperature. You'll enjoy it.

You'd be surprised how much of a muffler the stock hood is. Everything will seem a bit louder now.

Can anyone advise where (web site - supplier - vendor) I could see a picture of this hood? I am interested in something with vents to let out some of the heat but am having a difficult time finding something priced reasonable that looks decent. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well I installed the hood tonight. Everything went perfect, no problems with fitment at all. I'll have some picts pretty soon to show everyone.

With the windows down on the car you hear all sorts of new noises. I can really hear the turbo spool up sucking in air, sounds cool. I'm gona drive around some with the laptop hooked up to the haltech sometime this weekend to observe temps. I notice once the car is turned off the heat pours out of the vents.
