Talking Got the Defi Gauges installed!

I know some of you were asking about the look of the Defi gauges. I took a couple of pics this morning. I would have taken some last night but I finished it all up at 3am and had to get up at 5am to go to the gym. These are some damn nice gauges! I'll post the pics (and a short vid (700k) that shows them when the car is turned on). I'm sure you guys were more concerned w/ the night look so tonight after I get home I'll post the same pics (and vid) but in night mode. Then if I get the whiteface gauges (green backing) installed tonight then I'll post another set Enjoy.

Gauges w/ the dash in view (DAY)
Closeup of gauges on. (DAY)
Closeup of gauges off. (DAY)
Small video (700k) of turning the car on ... (needle show lol) (DAY)

Thanks! Location of the control unit was a tough one. I mounted the boost unit under the hood on the right side of the engine bay and I Drilled and taped a new hole for the water temp sensor. After running the wires from the engine bay into the car there wasn't much left so I had to keep it on the drivers side. I could have extended the wires but it was late and I didn't really want to put it on the passanger side. I ended up putting it to the left of the center consol on the carpet, in front of the drivers seat w/ buttons facing towards the back of the car. I'm using velcro to stick it to the carpet. Works out nice... I can reach down to it if I need to and it's out of the way for the most part. I'll take pics tonight and show ya.

I wanted to mount it on the underside of the dash plastic on the right side of the air vent. But there wasn't a flat enough spot and I didn't feel like rigging anything. I kinda like it where it's at tho. I would love to build it INTO the dash.. that would look sweet... but we'll see

you mean size?? they look like 60 mm to me. you need to dremell out the Autometer Gauge pods to fit them. no one yet makes gauge pods to hold 60 mm gauges.

Well... I fell asleep last night so I didn't get my white face gauges installed OR my PFC&Commander I guess it's all for the better tho... I don't want to get sick.

This morning I remembered I said I would take some night pics... so here they are!
Sorry for them being so blury.. I was running a little late to the Gym and I han't taken dark nonflash pics w/ my new digi cam before.

Closeup on gauges (NIGHT)
Gauges w/ dash in view (NIGHT)

When I get the white faces installed (hopefully tonight) I'll post the pics on this thread also!

BTW... they are 2 1/16 gauges (thats what the box said)... I beleive thats 52mm.. but I still had to dremel out the autometer housing to fit them w/ the rubber gromet.

Hey all...I've got the Defi boost gauge and I'm going to go with the pillar mount, but I've already mounted the boost sensor and I ran the wires through the passenger fender and into the cockpit via a small hole in the panel that's shared between the fender and the interior. Anyway, where I was going with this is that I can mount the control unit in the glove box and I've already cut the hole in the glove box to accomodate the wiring to come out. It's not done yet, but when it is I'll snap some pics and get them up. This way the CU is out of the way, and in no danger of someone accidentally messing with it.

Just figured ppl would want an alternative idea for where to put it since the floor is sort of a whack place to put it.
