goods and bads of 3rd gens

i am willing to give up a kidney for a third gen.but really before i bust my *** and work my body on the mean streets i wanted to hear the good things and bad thngs about 3rd gens.

i have heard that everthing seems to break or fall apart because evrything is mad of plastic and stuff.also that after 60k anything can go wrong with rhe engine.i read that a 3rd gen owner should not go out for a drive without a couple of thousand bucks in ther pockets because anything could break down, anywhere.even if the car is mantained properly or even if it has a brand new rebuild youll never know when the rx gods will call.

no matter what i read still want one but id like to hear the pros and cons.thanx for your time guys.

FDs are one of the funnest cars to drive out there.... I enjoy mine everytime I just step into it. There speed and the way they can hold corner is crazy. If you have the chance to own one, go for it, just make sure you know what your getting into.

The cars are a good amount more complicated then FCs. Most of the stock stuff is hard to work on. The first step to doing almost anything in the FD engine is removing the upper intake manifold. That in itself is time consuming. One big thing is finding people to work on it..... I am kinda stuck in that position. I dont really want to take the car to Mazda and now with the mods they wouldn't know what to do. I do live close to PFS but he charges wayyyyyy too much. I find myself getting all the info off the forum and my own work on the car. Another thing is finding parts, almost everything you have to order (at least in my area). I was struggling to find a new radiator cap last night. With the right care and a few aftermarket mods you can have a reliable FD. One big thing --- make sure you find a good condition FD, it's really easy to overlook problems when shopping for the car.
