Your best bet is to do a search or just look through the last several pages of this forum. Questions like the ones you have are asked all the time.

Check out this site

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/

It has some good info.
What will be your main use of the car? Daily driver, weekend warrior?
How much do you know about rotary's and rx-7 in general.
Do you do your own work?

Hey, I think your wife there is a little overweight. A little on the chunky side....know what I mean? The 3rd Gen RX-7 mmmmm, what a hottie. It's got the curves in all the right places. And she's slim and trim. She's really got the moves, not like that fat old lug of a wife you got. When you get it on with an RX-7, she can really perform. High maintenence? I suppose they both could give you trouble after a while, but with the RX-7, the pleasure is worth the pain.

I know a guy with a tt stealth and the only mods he has is exhaust and intake. That car is so damn fast from a stop i cant believe it. Granted hes running DR's all the way around but it still burns them to ****. I absolutley love the awd turbo stealths- vr4's. I have a friend right now almost finished with his 3000gt and it will 'theoretically" be the fastest in ohio. We'll see when he gets in finished. Keep your AWD twin turbo beast....DONT EVER GET RID OF IT!

1,000 extra pounds of fat doesn't do much for quarter mile times...think about it
I'm sorry....i cant seem to find in my last post where i mentioned anything about 3000gt's vs rx7's. I was simply stating that since they are awd you can literally redline them off the start. Oh yeah....i can post the mods and some pictures of my buddies current 3000gt which would have no problem taking most of the rex's on this board. But like i said before...its all theory since the car isnt quite finished yet. Lets not start comparing the two vehicles because quite frankly it is too damn hard. Too many variations.... driver capability ....vehicles mods.....etc etc. And stock for stock they have almost 100 extra ponies to move that extra 1000 lb's......not to mention yet again they are awd. I'm not saying that a stock tt 3000gt or stealth is faster than a stock fd. I was simply stating that i know of an tt stealth that threw the first couple gears would be very hard to pull a dollar off the dash.

Tommy, I know when the VR starts to fade it kinda turns pink but that is just outragous.

The rx7 is a higher maintenence car if you want it to last. Underhood temps are high therefore causing more hoses to crack.
You only have to do a few mods to 7 to get low 12's or high 11's.

hey thanks guys,
right now i got intake, and Blitz BC @14-15 psi. Ran a 13.6 1/4 this summer and it was my first time to a track. I don t lose to much. But I ve never raced an RX before. I mean i smoke Cobra's and MOST LS1's but you guys are right, she is a heavy girl. Having said that...being in Canada here, there is NO sub for AWD. I think the guy asked it best when asking what the usage of the car would be. Until I can afford a winter AWD talon AND a RX...I better try to keep my marriage strong!! Maybe some councelling classes. Oh what am i saying...they are both wicked cars!!! thanks for the advice. I was SO tempted a few months ago i saw a MINT 93 Rex driven by this midleage chick. Had 60k on it and she was THE only one to drive it, said she never had it over 3000 rpm!!! I gave her my # if she ever wanted to sell, so who knows, down the road i may be one of you guys... thanks again

You don't want a 'babied' 7 either, hehe. Keeping low rpms may allow carbon deposits to build over time, and cause the apex seals to stick - resulting in low/loss of compression. This would need a rebuild.

I drive mine 'spiritedly' , spending most of the time between 3000 and 5000 rpms.

Still though - a good excuse to have it ported while its out!

my bro had a brand new 92 tt when they first came out and i must say it was fast! he put an exaust on it and it was amazing. also the motor was bullet proof, he never had any problems with it compared to my rx-7. take my advice if you do not want to spend 5 or 6 grand extra for repair costs than the 7 is not a car to be considered! dont get me wrong i love the car but if you are not prepared to empty your wallet at every turn than its not for you. the worst thing about the car is that there is no one skilled enough to work on them around here. i have to drive a hundred miles to get maintenance done so make sure you have a good mechanic lined up cause you will need it.
