Golf Bag in the FD??

Hi Guys,

About to purchase an FD. I am about 6'1 tall and was wondering if any of you guys use your FD to go Golfing in.

So the question is this, will I get my golf bag in there. If so will it go in the back with rear seats folded down, or will I have to put them in the passenger side??

I am really looking forward to driving it on weekends to from the golf club and would be really dissapointed if they dont fit.

Bye the way the bag I have is same as you see on tv (tour bag)

If the clubs dont fit I might have to buy the FD anyway

I fit my golf bag in my FD. I put it on the passenger side. It fits fine. I don't have one of those bulky bags though, just a standard Callaway.

Seat all the way back and I'd say you could get it in the passenger side although I've never tried it. I chose bowling.

Actually if u take out the rear divider it should go in the trunk fine. Mazda actually advertised the ability to fit a golf bag as a benefit of the FD when it was new.

i actually take my fd to the golf course a couple times a week. you just need to take out the rear divider and the thing that hangs from the hatch to fit a fairly large stand bag, but you driver and 3 wood will be too long, so you have to put them in the passenger seat.

This thread hits home for me. I bought my car new in 1994 and after negotiating the price I told the salesman I had one more requirement before I bought the car - my golf clubs had to fit into it. You should have seen his face! I told him I would walk unless they fit. So, we grabbed my clubs, took out the rear divider and slid them in. Deal was done! I have actually fit two bags in the back with the divider out. You have to angle them slightly but they'll fit. I'm talking a regular bag though, not one of those huge pro bags. If you have one of those, then buy a Caddy unstead

I put my golf bag in without doing all that you guys have said. I just put my bag laid on top of my cargo bins. I guess, because I'm 5'6" I 'm closer to the steering wheel. I have an Adam's Golf set, full set of clubs drivers, and my putter, and I fit it all back there. I knew I coul just remove the divider, but this seemed more simple for someone of my height. To put them in or take them out, I just push my seat forward, and put the bag in bottom first towards the passenger rear.

Wow. two sports in one. driving to the golf course and playing 18 holes.. life is good!

a golf ball and an FD can be driven about the same distance before coming to a stop. and your wallet is always in the hole.... (LOL).... enjoy the game and the driving.

Not only will golf clubs fit but as a goalie, I can pack my ice hockey gear to the rink too. Hockey bag in the passenger seat and my goalie pads in the back.

Enjoy!
