i prefer single turbo by far, the simplicity alone is reason enough. and there are lots of turbos with very fast response that are good for 400+ reliable hp

Do you have any current problems with the twins?? If not, then why spend the money to go single unless it is just burning a hole in your pocket?? And if you are going to upgrade the twins to another set...BNR is the way to go. Honestly... it sounds like you need to educate yourself a lot more before you start messing with the FD that you have. Please read FAQ's in both this section and the single turbo section....

T51R Kai is a good single turbo.

Or you good always just get 99 Spec twins. Good for about 350whp or so, I was in one the other day and it was a blast.

You could also send out your stock twins to a place that will use the stock housings put replace the guts, giving you more power.

yeah i have been thinking of the same thing, single or twin and im going to go with bnr stage 3 twins because here in cali is to much of a hassle to go with a single due to smog issues. but it all comes down to what you want, as in power goals and ect...

The T51R Kai turbo is definitely not a good turbo for what it seems like you want (it is a great turbo, just not for your needs). If you want something relative to the stockers, then yes the 99 spec twins or the bnr stage 3s would be good. For single turbo, it seems like the GT35R would be a good option as well.

Smog considerations should be near the top of your list when thinks about modifying a California car. It is unlikely that a smog tech will pass your car with ANY single turbo setup.

Ill most likely go single when my engine/twins go.

Just for the mere facts:

You clear up alot of room in the bay
You lose some weight as well in the bay
Single is more power efficient, reliable and more simple than seq twins
With the proper tune, supporting mods, you'll be much faster for not much more money (that is if you already have some of the supporting mods needed for single anyway).

When i go single, its gonna be a GT35R. I only want like 375rwhp. You dont need a ton of HP in our cars.

I like my BNR stage 3 super sized with my Rich Mans Non Seq Mod over most single turbo set ups . If you do it correctly it may pass Cali smog test and give you over 4oo HP with out needing repairs each day of use . I drive the car and show it so the set up works for both and the car is fast without breaking parts ,all I need .

...you probably will be making more than that. I'm in the mist of getting my parts together and based on searching, you'll be around closely to 400 RWHP with the respective/associating fuel setup.

the T51R alone is expensive, and there is no "kit" for the T51R

...you should keep in mind that the GT35R is a turbo that needs high boost to perform correctly. I've heard of about 1.5 to 2 bar, thats around 21 to 29 psi, i think.

Kick/ban for giving silly unknowledgeable info. Works fine in the 14-16 PSi range with decent power. With a good tune and supporting mods, you can get over 400 rwHP at the wheels on pump gas.

Yes. However, the 99 twins won't give you much more hp than a new set of 93-95 twins.
