Glowing turbos at idling...??!!

Status:

Primary turbo is starting to glow red in 10 sec if i just standing still in my garage and keeping it at 1000-1500 rpm:s

I have checked:

*TPS.... Ok

*Pressure sensor.... Ok

*wather termo sensor.... Ok

*air temp sensor.... Ok

*o2 sensor.... Ok

*Crank angel sensor... Ok

*New plugs....

*New wires....

*Coils.... Ok

* "Rattnest" ... Ok

* Engine ground... Ok

* Injektors Cleaned and tested... Ok

I am almost sure there is something that gives the engine to much fuel b cause it smells like a dragster

Somebody???

Could be as simple as a bad exhaust manifold gasket, and explain the smell. the same thing was happening to my header due to this cause.

Your turbo housing was glowing red at idle due to a bad exhaust manifold gasket?

The car is stock.

I cant guarantee it, but i think the cat is ok.
The exhaust flows good.

But if i start it upp whitout the downpipe there is fire coming out of the turbos at idling.... = rich.

I have changed ECU also to eliminate that there is something wrong with it

To much fuel.. but why??

How did you check the oxygen sensor?

Ditto for the cat.

You could have a leaky injector.

Yes it was. Actually it was the exhaust manifold (header, non-turbo) that would glow red at idle. But there was enough gap that I could actually see exhaust escaping there in the right lighting. Thus making me think its entirely possible to happen to the turbo/housing/manifold.

I think one of the injectors is dumping fuel.

The injectors may be fine but if an injector O-ring is pinched then fuel can dump into the LIM. I don't know what else would make your turbos glow and your car smell like a dragster than fuel dumping.

Have you checked to see if that particular turbo spins freely?? I frozen turbo will cause a tremendous amount of excess heat due to the resistance of exhaust flow.

Especially since its only happening on one turbo...

You did check the MAP sensor hose right? if it is cracked or something and reading too little pressure at idle, it will cause a rich condition. Verify operation with a multimeter between the signal wire and ground. applying pressure to the sensor should increase voltage. key on engine off, should read between 2 and 2.5 volts. verify proper operation of the check valve as well.

Sounds your over rich condition is acting like a anti-lag. Does the fuel pressure hold when the fuel pump is off?
