and a pfc or something...u can make your car run a little more rich to lower your egt's

It does sound like you have a problem. A glowing dp is normal, but the pics you posted, showing that much glowing with an ultra bright flash two feet away, that must have been pretty bright. You shouldn't be able to see your catback glowing either, something is wrong. You could be running too lean, but more likely you are running too rich and/or have a clogged cat (they can be related, as overly rich mixtures ruin the cat). Remember, when the cat does its work to catalyze unburnt fuel, a lot of heat is released, so you want that thing doing a minimum amount of work. Do you know what your A/F ratio is? Is your gas mileage really bad? Any high rpm misfire? Get it checked out. I wouldn't worry about your trip because you shouldn't have a problem in normal driving (if you are getting glowing just from normal driving, then get it checked out ASAP), just take it easy until you figure out the problem.

my exhast temp is so hot i cant hold my hand in front of it (about 6in away from the outlet) is that normal i think it might be runnig lean because my car doesnt seam to be that fast and it hits a wall at about 80 it goes so slow from there on my civic will go faster up top

btw didn't really want to read through all of this but I saw the question asked "why turbos make so much ate". Its basically a law of thermodynamics when air is compressed the temperature skyrockets. Thus why an intercooler adds horsepower. Because after the turbo superheats the air it goes through the intercooler to hopefully get back down into respectable ranges. Go look at any high horsepower turbo car (exspecially(sp?) turbo porches) you will seen the manifolds glowing bright orange when they are under boost for awhile. Its perfectly normal although not ideal.

That is just plain nuttttts. Some red glow yes but to the point where it is about to melt, hell no. Im suprised you dont have a little sag with your lag.

Honestly I don't think it could get hot enough to melt any of the exhaust piping on an FD. It could get to forging temperature however.

my wide band results jump all the way down to about 10.40 at high rpm and at 12.10 or so at low (just starting out) rpm isnt that a bit to low up top? im not to familiar with what the numbers should be but I think the guy who tuned my afc was an older guy at a shop around here whos motto is "lean is mean" and that scares me! the person who owned the car before me is the one who had it tuned so im not sure who did it

im not sure if its the auto or what but like i said it hits 80mph and crawls

What should my a/f ratio be though out the entire power band? whats the max and the min.?

normal, thats why there are heat shields all over. turbos use the heat energy in exhaust to create more power. more power created, more heat required. shield everything that you don't want to get hot, ie. rubber, antilock brakes, and sheet metal parts and you'll be fine
