glass antenna.....I didn't realize.....

Wow.....the things you learn reading the service manual....
I did not realize that the FD has a second, "glass" antenna like the FC, only in the rear glass.
It is the top grid in the back glass, the defroster is below it....
Just in case there are other owners that didn't know....

Yeah, only if it actually works! It's better than one I guess.

When I had my FC, that's all I used. My stupid stero installer couldn't figure out how to make the main one work. The window antenna worked great

It's actually a "diversity" antenna. The two work in concert to give you better reception. Usually the glass antenna doesn't cut it, especially in the city.

Yes diversity antenna is right. Now you need a radio that can actually utilize it. I never use the factor power antenna because I hate having it up the in air. I have used the diversity antenna as my main antenna for a 1.5 now and I love it. I've used in the city and the rural areas and it is ok for me. However I listen to CDs well over 90% of the time.

is there anywhere to get a better front window antenna like they have in the porsches? or would it be way too expensive to put in?
