oh for your information lady, most of the RX7 forum members have their car in the garage or shop due to the unreliability of the engine. the same goes to me too.

We are just trying to help u out. We dont want u wasting money on buying a FD then after a few runs you do something to the engine then come to find out their are 10 more things wrong and spend more money than expected. So now you don't want to spend the money and want to sell it, buy a cheaper car, and have a broken FD. Leave the FD to someone one who will take care of it.

You will be repairing this car more than drifting it. Other than that I wish you good luck

You have to realize it's all about timing. The movie JUST came out so of course we're going to think it's due to the movie.

And if you consider living in the real world, you can certainly have a daily driver as a drift car vise versa, it's a matter if u crash it more often than drift it.
Yeah, you've obviously never owned an RX-7, not to mention an FD at that. What you don't understand is that these aren't known to be reliable cars. And it's not due to wrecking them, that is not why alot of these guys have said what they've said. They were probably referring mostly to reliability issues. You're probably wanting to get alot of power out of it to drift, and with power comes more problems.

Yes, i'm well aware that it costs money, have seen plenty of accidents, and I know there are other great cars that would help me the best to start out with (probably not to mention cheaper) but I prefer at the moment for an RX-7.
If you've never owned one, you probably have no idea how much it costs to maintain one. Once again, we're not talking about wrecking as much as just cost to maintain and modify. Parts for the FD are not cheap. I've already dropped over $5,000 in suspension/wheels and I'm not even finished yet.

What type of car you driving now?
Before you buy check for a good place to have motor work/diagnosis done, it sucks, the car will leave you stranded eventually, i have to drive a hour and a half one way to get to a rotary mechanic. Then dealing with getting rides suck. I bought a motorcycle on the side,so i don't have to rely on anybody. Trust me it gets old. These cars have ton of boost issues, major repairs done at low milage.
Keep in mind i bought my car as a daily driver, First year i replaced every major part, it was all stock expect Dp,exhaust with a New engine,Stuck thermostat took took out my engine. Turbo's leak, tranny's,go bad.. ect..a rear main seal will cost you a 1000 and sum change.Oil pan leak is around 1000 through a shop. Insurance was 225 a month. So car payment 340,insurance 225, and high shop bills, then you wanna upgrade parts, If your finacially secured and don't have to work for your car, go for it. Go talk to a mechanic and see what he charges, and how often he's workin on a 3rd gen. Good luck, just something to think about, i wish i bought a supra, been hell alot cheaper in the long run for me atleast.
