Getting a loud vibrating noise from new intake...help

I just put on an Apexi intake. The one with aluminum pipes. I hooked everything up and its making this loud *** vibrating noise when you rev it. The noise is coming from the rubber hose that goes around the pass side of the intake manifold and up underneath it. It is right above the airpump hose that goes to the rear of the motor. On the stock airbox I think it was the one on top all the way to the drivers side. At idle it has slight air blowing out...rev it and it whooshes air and makes the noise.

What the **** is this hose connected to that would make that kind of noise?

Help me.

Does it sound like a cow mooing? If it is then it's normal because you don't have an airbox that muffles the noise from the airpump anymore.

I believe the restrictor that comes with the intake is supposed to stop it from making that noise.

Yeah it sounds like a ******* cow. I didn't get the restrictor thing.

According to the service manual its the air relief valve. WTF is a air relief valve?

What can I do to get rid of the noise?

restricting the air relief valve will slowly kill your airpump

call whoever you ordered your intake from and ask for the round aluminum piece with a hole drilled through it. That noise would **** me off for sure.

I shoved a piece of rag in the hose and it quiets the noise alot. You still get a slight noise from the airpump though.

I'm going to try a breather from an older v8 or something

Trust me the mooing sound is caused by the airpump. The sound is ALWAYS there but you never heard it because the airbox was muffling it.

I am using the apexi intake that comes with the fmic.

I don't know if this makes a difference.

ack! I just ordered an Apexi intake on Monday and I will be installing it in the next few days. Did I make a mistake getting the Apexi? or would any aftermarket intake have this issue?

The majority of open intakes will make that sound if you still have your airpump. Guys who has remove the airpump notice that the sound disappears. The Apexi intake is a great and one of the most free flowing intake for the rx7.

do you recommend using this intake with the stock hoses or can you use upgraded intake pipes like the polished m2's. does anybody make these other than them? what will one have to do to remove the airpump? are the metal pipes sticking off of the filters where the crv and bov tubing connects as if were going back into the stock airbox?
