Getting a fd for export to Norway!
hello people!
Ive been looking at parts trader an auto trader. Im looking for a 1993 R1 for exporting here to Norway.
Its gonna be repainted here so the condition of the paint doesnt really matter. How much should i pay for one thats in running condition? 8-12.000$ ?

Aren't you better off buying an FD direct from Japan? You can certainly purchase a much NEWER one than from here in the states.

Yeah japans prices on '92+ cars are probably lower than ours because they have the 99+ which should be more desirable... And plus from what I've seen on japanese dealer websites it seems like you get more for your money in japan FD's. Since you have to import anyways, why not go japan. That is of course if you guys are RHD...

You can get them here no problem. Little pricey to go to europe, but all shipping from here is. For 12,000 US you could find a decent 96 if your lucky. The reason I say 96, is because you can find 92-95 for $6000, but the 96 is when the changed a few parts like the tail lights/emblems and a few other parts. Then the next step up would be a 99, which would still be around $18,000 or $19,000 I havent seen very many for sale though, for all that cheap..

the japanese are all rhd... that would never be allowd on the street by our goverment her...
i need a 1993 model because the older it is the less TAX i have to pay for it...!
it would cost me an exstra 10.000@ to get it approved and on norwegian liscene plates. a 1996 model would probebly cost over 20k$ only in taxes... the older they are... the less tax you get..

So importing from Japan i can get one for 6000$? 1992 model? Shipping from Japan costs about 2.000$ for a complete car. What kind of versions of rx7 do they have in japan? In europe we only have 1 model wich is a kinda mix of R1 and touring version.

I was thinking about selling it but before I was going to fix it. I just bought a Racing Beat Catback, M2 DP, Pettit AST all these parts are brand new and have never been installed in the car the car is stock, I also have the Mazda Workshop Manual, some spark plugs, etc. I have done a compression test 2 weeks ago and the compression is OK. Maybe this car will be interesting for you and it will be cheaper to import to Norway than from the U.S. The price I think it will also be interesting I will take off money for the things that have to be done in the car. It has 52.000 miles. I also think Iam in the price range that you want to spend.

I hope the Spain car works out for you too.
When I lived in California. I looked at 7 RX7 before I found mine and soon after moved to Denmark. Everyone of them looked great or sounded like a great deal over the internet or in the auto traders. But, when you see them up close. You won't believe how bad people take care of them. Some people want to purchase a car at a lower price, knowing they can fix them up, thats great. If you are looking for a car that only needs paint and the rest of the car is sound. You will have to look at alot of cars or just be lucky. Don't get me wrong. I hope you find one
From all the cars I have seen in Europe. None of them are driven in the winter.
