Cool Gauges: Autometer or Defi?

Defi Link Meter
I like the clean looks, record/playback functions, warning lights, HUD and imperial version options.
(very expensive!)

Defi Blue Racer Gauges
Imperial version and that tight ars blue is the shiznit, yo-yo! (no record/playback functions, no warning lights)

Autometer Nexus digital link system
I love the color choices, SD card and record/playback functions (can edit/manipulate from PC), warning lights, imperial version standard.
(No heads up display option)

The Nexus gauges are step above anything else has right now. You can datalog and play back on a PC. Something you can't do with the Defi gauges.

If you just want stock lighting and looks the VDO Vision are a great match. I'll never understand why people will spend several hundred dollars or more on gauges

I cant belive they are ending the production of D series. I'm running those and they are great for their price.

Yes, they are tight (even with their bad stigma). I love that feature but they are about as pricey as Defi and don't have the HUD option.

I am reluctantly willing to pay for the record/playback features. I know they are way overpriced not having to constantly monitor that gauges is great and for the Nexus to record they for playback on PC is even better.

I think they were just replaced with the Blue Racer series. I don't see any difference between the two, other then the lighted color.

There isn't much though their boost gauge is definitely much better than the d-series as they now have 1 hash per psi and in/Hg. If they did it in the fasion that I think they did, all it will take is a matter of doing the same mods that hyperite did and you can have any color you want.

I have two autometer gauges, they do the job but I oftentimes question their accuracy - there have been a few times where my autometer boost gauge differs COMPLETELY (like a difference of 3psi) with my PFC.

If you have the money I would definetly suggest you go for the DEFI, the autometer will do the job but I feel more comfortable having a second opinion (PFC) in the car just in case...

OK, thanks for all the help. I like the SD card on the Nexus but it's an aditional charge option as well as the software which isn't even available yet. So, it looks like the Defi for me.

So now I want to plant them above the radio in the DIN pocket. I know Saab has a gauge panel thing but is there a much nicer one then that? Maybe for WRX or Evo or something that angles towards the driver?

I love my defi D gauges, I really dont care for the blue ricers. I would have to agree Defi make the best gauges but they dont log data so that 1 for the Autometer. Does anybody know what they are selling for.

Control units:
* Defi = $200
* Nexus = $250

Gauges:
* Defi = $175ea
* Nexus = $200ea

** remote extra, SD card Extra, software extra.
** not shure about the adapter things for water and oil temp if theose are extra.
(I can't beleive Defi is cheaper!)

OK, found a 3-gauge single DIN panel thing for Saab. Can anyone tell me if there are nicer ones out there?

Saab 3 Gauge 52mm ISO DIN Mount

Defi BF all the way! they match the styling of the 2nd and 3rd gen sevens perfectly.

http://www.nippon-seiki.co.jp/defish...bf/bf_top.html

and autometer is perfectly accurate, only fucktards spam that they are junk. yes they aren't as expensive but still expensive enough - only people who believe the propaganda that only top of the line is what you want is what some people these days tend to believe and tell everyone else that, just like those products advertisers want...

Exactly, I don't know why everyone hates on Autometer. Their electric gauge series (cobalt blue is sweet) and the nexus gauges are top of the line, proven, and less expensive than Defi.

Automater is all I've used to this point, but in my FD I opted for Defi D-Gauges. I love them, but I hate people talking **** about autometer. Maybe their bottom of the barrel gauges are shitty, but hey you get what you pay for.
