Gauge Pod

What do you guys think? Does this look like something the rotorheads might want? It's made form the stock part so the fittment is perfect. If people are interested, I could make some.

I can paint it whatever color you want, or just leave it primed and you can paint it or wrap it.

Very nice. I am about to order an Autometer dual pod. Let us know if you will make black and how much money?

looks nice. MUCH better than the stick-on autometer pods.... IMO, you should just paint them all black. i'm also interested, let us know what's up.

Thanks for all the comp.

I took the stock pillar panel and molded the autometer gauge pod onto it using fiber glass. That's why it fit so good. The picture don't do justice. It's silver because I wanted it to accent my already color coordinated interior. I don't know for sure if I'm gonna mass produce it yet. I'm just fishing.

If I did make them to sell, here's what it would be.

Need to send me the pillar cover.

You can send me the autometer pod if you have one. It could even be cracked. It doesn't matter.

Choice of color, or primed.

1 week turnaround time.

Cost I would say,

Primed:
If you send me the pod 150 - 200
If you don't have the pod, 150 - 200 + cost of pod(don't worry, I get it at wholesale.

Painted:
Just add ~50 to the above price.

Let me know what you guys think. I have to see what the material cost is to figure out the exact cost.

since you just molded the pod onto the a-pillar, what's to stop you from molding a 1-guage and 2-guage onto one pillar? dunno if i want something like that, but i'm sure some people out there want a 3-pod pillar.... i am totally up for it.

just another question... since you used fiberglass to mold the pod, could you use fiberglass to also smooth out the driver's side of the pods where it's straight? kinda make it look like it came from the factory...

I just got back from the SEMA show. Autometer has the pillar with 2 gauge pods all in one piece. It's black with the same texture as the 94-95 FD interiors. I believe they are 52mm but can be enlargened for 60mm.

Ah well,
Autometer will probably sell it cheaper. I thought it was an original idea. Man, it's so hard to be creative.
