how can i tell if i have r134 AC?
94 base model.
i know they started using the r134 system on some 94's and all of the 95's.
is the piping, compressor.. etc the same as the r12 system? of is it just the refrigerant?
i have a 93 workshop manual (friend gave it to me) so its not helping me in this situation.

I'm pretty sure all 94's used R12. It should be printed on a label under the hood. The fittinings will also be different for the two systems, so you can't put R134A in an R12 system, or vice versa.

R134a would have red and blue caps marking the high and low end of the A/C system where as the R12 system just has black caps. The R134a fittings are also larger in diameter. Either way, check under the hood. Even if it was converted, there should be a service sticker somewhere under the hood.
