Gas Tank/System ... Got me stumped.

Myself and another forum member have been having identical issues and neither of us can put a finger on the culprit.

The Problem:

When filled up, my car smells like gas on the inside. Yesterday I took a strong 90 degree right hand turn (driverside on outside of turn) and immediately stopped. Low and behold there was fuel on the ground (the car was no longer full at this point) -- driver side to be exact. So in short, gas smell & leaking fuel on strong right hand turn.

Things I've Checked

1. Fuel Cap
2. Fuel kneck to gas tank and all fasteners/bolts/screws
3. Fuel Filter
4. Fuel Lines under car
5. Charcoal Canister

None of these seem to be out of order (other then a little dry rot on the charcoal canister's breather hose -- I don't think that's a biggie but correct me if I'm wrong).

Things It Could Be?

Check Valves? I searched for them but didn't see them in plain sight (on top of tank maybe?)

I couldn't figure it out after a few hours under the car so I just went ahead and changed the diff fluid instead.

I'M STUMPED!

p.s. it's not coming from the engine bay... Definately a tank issue.

okay update.

I checked a few more parts tonight:

1. trunk plate is in place with all retaining screws
2. plate to tank is in place with all retaining screws
3. check valves are ok.

Now I'm really at a loss b/c I was betting on one of the check valves but they appear to be working properly (visual and blowing through them).

Any other guesses?
