Gas cap leaking?????

Every once in a while after i fill up, i notice that a day or so later there's a bunch of what looks like old fuel that has leaked outa the gass cap and out on to the rear fender/bumper. has anyone had this problem??????? I'm concerd that some jackass might throw a lit cig out the window near my car and that'd be the end of me. any ideas?????????

Why not just get a new gas cap and see if it fixes it?

I really doubt it's your gas cap, as there is a recirculation tube that would most likely catch it and channel it back intot he gas tank. Check the large hose that goes from the fuel tank to the filler neck. It's not uncommon for that to get a few little cuts on it from debris. Get under there when it stops leaking with a flashlight and a small mirror to check for cuts.

I'm with Mahjik. Get a new cap at the dealer. They're cheap. It's easy to overtighten when when refueling then it doesn't seal as well. I did that to mine a few years ago. Kept smelling fumes. Bought a new cap, problem solved.
