Fuel smell
I've searched this subject. Every thread was about a fuel smell after acceleration or at idle. My poblem is I get fuel smell when I haven't even started the car. It's getting so bad that I'm going to have to park it outside. Where could fuel be coming from, when you haven't even ran the car in over two days? It smells like it's coming from the passenger side.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Even tho, you havent driven it in 2 days. when shutting it off, the fuel pressure is still there, and if you have a leak somewhere it gonna drip out (ie...fuel line, injector, FPD)
the FPD are known for this also, do a search and get some info
Good luck

You need to jumper the fuel pump, pressurize the fuel system and check all areas for leakage with the engine not running.
In the "Diagnosis" box on the left front fender wall, you will find on the inside of the cover a grid showing the port for the fuel pump. Use a paper clip wire and jumper the fuel pump port to the ground port, turn the ignition to the "on" position (do not start engine) and you should hear the hum of the fuel pump. (This is also described at several places in the FSM if you do not understand) Get your nose and eyes under the hood and search for the leak.
The principal culprit from your description is the fuel pressure regulator. Look down behind the UIM on the passenger side of the engine bay.
