Fuel regulator for 280lt/h

Its neccesary to use fuel pressure regulator for a pump like SR Ultimate 280lt/h . I like to run 1 bar of boost .

Yes, a regulator is necessary with any pump, regardless of capacity. As long as you're using the stock fuel rails, you can stick with the stock regulator though.

o.k but a friend of mine in his fd use 2 fuel pumps ( stock + external Bosch 0.44 ) without fuel regulator and the car runs without problems even in drag racing with stock turbos ( 1.0 bar ) .

No, all the fuel system is stock without other modifications .

If his only modification is another pump, it must be plumbed in series with the stock pump, possibly via a catch tank, thereby pumping fuel to the stock rail and the stock regulator.

No FPR but still has a return line? That doesn't seem right... Do you mean he has the stock FPR and no *aftermarket* FPR?
