Fuel Pump installation question
Hey,
I changed my fuel pump (for a Walbro 255) along with a feed surge tank and when I finally completed the job, putting the carpet back in position in the trunk, I noticed I forgot that little piece :
I knew it, it was too easy ^^
So, I'm going to unmount the pump again to reinstall this part. But I'm not sure in which direction/order (I guess it goes under the oring, which is under the other plastic piece)... the FSM doesn't show those parts so I'm not sure
I made a quick schema, is this the right way to do it ?

I believe this has a picture of the right way -

I think it will only fit one way.

Thanks Dale ! I didn't find this topic before, I appreciate.
so I unmounted the pump again today, but when I tried to put the missing plastic piece, it wouldn't fit. The walbro has less room under its neck, so there was no way to make it work without cutting the plastic of the pump.. actually the neck of the walbro is really different from the oem pump, which is straight and fit perfectly inside the oring. So I ended up cutting the metal hose and put a fuel rubber hose and now it's well tighten and shouldn't move.

Make sure the hose you used is rated for immersion in fuel. If not it will turn into goo and you'll have some major fuel pressure problems.
The Walbro typically comes with an install kit with the plastic spacer, O-ring, etc. There may be something different with that model.

Yep, the hose I've used was in the kit with the walbro 255 HP, and is definitely a fuel hose. This kit was meant to be rx7 'plug and play'...

That may be the FC plug and play kit, the 86-88 FC's have a fuel hose for the connection, 89 Mazda changed to the O-ring type connection.
Regardless if you used that hose from the kit you'll be fine.

You must be right ! (As usual 😅
it was described as " fuel pump for FC +FD plug&play "
So it's an error from the website, I should let them know.
