Fuel line size

Sorry for the simple question. I've done a bit of searching and came up with two sizes. I'm looking into moving my Fuel Filter so it isn't such a PITA to change. I've seen people say that the line size is -5 and -6 (5/16" and 3/8" respectively) , so does anyone know for sure which size it is? Also, does the shop manual have a section that has hose specs like this? I didn't see anythign when I skimmed. Thanks!

The stock line is metric , about 5/16. My mechanic has changed his from the pump coupling to the front to 3/8 inch. He put the filter on the rear of the rear sub frame using the stock filter bracket. Drill and tap two holes and you are done. He uses a filter with screw in lines so there is no pulling lines off and pushing them back on. d Do not put the filter in the engine bay.
