Front Tower strut bar stock?

I just got my 7 today!!!

I was wondering whether or not the front tower strut bar came stock? Also...there seems to be a rear tower strut bar equiped as well, but it's black and rectangular.

Are these stock parts or aftermarket? If they're stock, is there much of an advantage upgraded to full metal bar? (particularly the rear strut bar)

only the R models came stock with the front strut bar (its a red strut bar with a silver RX-7 badge on it) as far as the rear is concerned all rx-7's came with a rear strut bar. upgrading front and rear bars to a stonger aftermarket one will increase stiffness but not by much and you probably won even notice it.

try more like $500

You can get them used, I got mine used for $175 in good shape. Jesse Lau (www.4jspec.com) usually has some for $180 shipped (w/dings) or about $220 mint.

stock looks like this:

Both of you wish. List price is $886 or so. Mazdacomp will sell them for about $400-450.

It's not like it has working parts or even style for that matter...it's a peice of metal that transfers energy, don't waste your money on overpriced parts
