Is there a washer on the front e-shaft bolt for 3rd gens? I thought I was missing it as its in the parts diagram so i ordered one. But now a local engine builder says 3rd gens don't have one so maybe I was never missing it? It's not listed in the service manual but it is in the parts diagram. So is it one of those optional things?

No washer. O-ring on the rear of it. Lock-tite on threads and silicone on the rear mounting hub.

There is a rectangular-shaped piece that goes around the 19mm hex and two of the M6 bolts. Not required.

Only on OE main pully. It doesn't fit on the smaller after market ones

Ah, so I wasted $3. I guess it wouldn't hurt to use the washer? Or just torque it as is? Yah, I got a new oring for it and was planning to do the same thing (loctite on the front and silicone on the back).

That's weird I was just looking at that today myself. Looks like the RE has a crush washer or something that goes on there but the REW doesn't.

It will be easier for an oil leak to occur if the washer is used. Just use the bolt, O-ring, loctite (not a lot, threads only) and sealant (on the bolt neck-head contact surface), then torque to 200ft,lb.
