You mean how do you break it loose?

If you have access to air tools, then a good impact should take it off. I don't have any air tools, so I use a 2ft breaker bar (1/2"drive) with a 4ft cheater pipe slipped over the end. Snaps the front bolt (and the flywheel nut) off every time. You can also add a little heat (via torch) or PB Blaster.

Is your motor still in the car?

No its out of the car on and engine stand, with the bolt pointing to the sky. I have it soaked in PB plaster, but I doubt it is actually getting to the threads.... I thought of heat put I do not want to damage anything else.

I do not have any access to good air tools, they are all cheapos

I've honestly never had a problem with my 2ft breaker bar, and 4ft cheater pipe. Takes em off everytime. If you try heating it, the only things that I can think of that would possibly be effected are the front main seal, and the O-ring on the end of the e-shaft bolt. If you use heat, I would suggest replacing these due to potential damage (not likely, but better safe than sorry).

I bought all the new seals that the FSM said to replace. Although, Rusty from Rotorsports Racing said I do not need to use the backup seal/oring with the metal front gasket. The other thing with the heat is possible damage to the bypass valave/spring in the e-shaft, I guess some heat but not read hot will be fine.

IMHO, you should replace that e-shaft thermopellet with the elimination plug anyway. Mazdatrix has one for about $9.

Finally got it off, I used a 4 foot pipe. I turned the engine as if it was sitting in the engine bay and broke it that way, because the engine/stand was moving around to much. Although I just "broke" it enough, turned from about the 12 o'clock position one hour back to the 11 o'clock, then turned it back front cover facing up to fully loosen the tension and remove it. I believe I should be alright and have no worries about the trust bearing, since the movement was marginal.

With the Metal front cover gasket, do I need the back up oring? I have a new one ready to install in need be, I am just not sure if it is needed or not with the metal gasket. Also should I install the gasket with no silicon or with silicon?
