Hi I recently took my 13b fd rx7 engine apart while inspecting the engine I noticed on the front iron that the iron looks like it has a chip around one of the coolant jackets the chip is next to the inner o ring but can it still be re used. I will try to get pics up.

I had the same thing happen, the shop told me to replace it even though it would still work.

 

I would replace anything with a shipped or broken wall. You want 100 percent coverage of the seal or it could swell into the coolant passage like a tube in a tire with a hole in it.
