Fouling Plugs in Theory

Right I have read numerous post about fouling plugs and the issues behind it mostly due to worn rotors, leaking injectors etc....

Here is the question the car wont start. Removed all plugs and inspected and the trailing plugs were soaked in fuel and the leading plugs were slightly damp and both really looked like they need replacing. Cleaned plugs best I could re-installed. I am running the plugs in correct holes specified by the operators handbook.

Reinstalled plugs and leads and attempt to start. A few coughs and could defianlty tell it wanted to start. Then turn over with no life.

Removed plugs again and the trailing plugs are soaked and the leading are dry.

In principle shouldnt the leading plugs be soaked or have I got something wrong?

I have ordered new plugs just waiting for them to be delivered.

If your plugs are soaked in gas the car is flooding. I think there is something else wrong besides plugs

But why only the trailing plugs and not lead plugs being soaked. In theory the lead plugs would be wetter than trailing

Have you checked to make sure that they are firing? I can see your logic as the leading plugs are the lowers but you are flooding. Have you tried the de-flooding procedure? I'm guessing you have an injector or 2 that is stuck open.

But both objectors because both trailing plugs are fouling not just one

the trailing plugs are colder than the leading, assuming you are using the OEM heat ranges. Thus they may be more susceptible to fouling.

This is removing plugs, remove EGI fuse and Fuel Pump Relay, crank engine 15 sec, pour 1 oz of ATF in each UIM nipple, the crank some more, clean plugs and start.

Someone else chime in if i missed something for deflood procedure.

Think about how the trailing plugs are situated in the housing. Seems like it would be easier for the fuel to be swept away from the leading plugs and for fuel to accumulate in the trailing port.
Check injectors or coil or CAS.
