Here is a list of mods:
Boost Gauge
Downpipe
Catback
Pulleys
Intake
ECU Upgrade
Fuel Pump
Intercooler
Ignition computer
Midpipe
At this point you are between 330-360 RWHP depending on boost. Will beat or match 99% of the BPU supras out there.

Next Step:
Injector upgrade
Single Turbo Upgrade - Will up the H.P. anywhere between 380-500 RWHP depending on boost and turbo size.

That about sums up the H.P. Upgrades. there are a bunch of reliability upgrades like an aluminum radiator and AST.

Hope this helps.

All downpipes give around the same H.P. and achieve the same purpose.
Popular choice in intercooler is the Apexi or Greddy front mount.

the thing about a rotary is that it either works or it doesn't work. there are no valves to adjust, cylinders to bore, etc. THe rotary had a great reputation for reliablity until the 3rd gen rx7. Becasue ytou coudl run it for 250k miles with never even opening the engine. I mean any mainetnace on it, THe rotary is still as reliable in the 3rd gen just that it operates more on the edge, so if someone runs there 3rd gen in rough shape with no maintenace, or has boost problems they never fix, or slaps on an open exhaust with no ecu. the engine goes pop. andi t will cost you to get a new one.


3k of mods will get you to smoke everyone in sight.

You gotta take care of it, and you gotta know what you're doing. It's certainly not as bulletproof as your Supras engine... But it holds it's own. It very easy to rebuild yourself (so I've heard, I've never had the pleasure). These cars are really not as unreliable as everyone seems to think, if you take care of it. I would say more than anything, they are "unforgiving". All it takes is one serious ping to blow an apex, but there no reason you should get a ping, if you've been going by the book (of course there are exceptions of this). Now, you can't just turn up the boost like in other cars. You have to have the fuel to back it up, intercooler, octane gas, etc..

Just read around this forum a little, and you'll get a good idea of what you should and shouldn't do..

There are a few basic reliability upgrades to do. A Downpipe, the pre-cat is restrictive, and radiates too much heat. Vaccuum hoses. With the high underhood temps, these tend to get brittle and crack, should be replaced. The Radiator is a good choice to upgrade (and use Water Wetter/Distilled Water as coolant).

Anyways, that's just a starter. Ask some specific questions, and we'll answer them.

can anyone here please teach me how to make my car a 10 sec. car but along with that keeping it a daily driven car? what kind of mods do i need to do and can the stock motor handle 500 whp with no prob? please help

Hahahah... just kidding. I tried to do exactly what you want. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me. I had too many problems with the car and never felt it was daily drive material. Some of the forum members here have pulled it off... namely Steve Kan and Crispeed and Gordon Monson and a few others. Maybe I simply didn't have enough patience to get the car to where they have.

But in short.. it's going to take money and good tuning.

Hardware For HP:
Ported motor
Big single turbo
Big IC
Big fuel system
Stand-alone fuel management

Hardware for reliability:
Upgraded radiator
Big oil coolers
Kaaz LSD once you break the stock one with slicks


And great fuel maps. Talk to one of the three named above for details. I know Steve has been known to help people out with Haltech maps...

hehe..man...sounds like you've been on the supra forum too much and have been listening too much about what they say about rotory motors...just to let you know, no, everytime you put in a new mod the motor won't blow...just remember that even if you don't get exactly how much hp you'd get mod for mod with an fd3s and an mkIV the fd weighs so much less...just to let you know an fd with 550 hp to the wheel will hit crazy *** times...an fd with around 450 with a port and a single turbo upgrade will easily dip in the 11's so just know that you won't need 550 hp to kick some ***...

I've owned both also..After having 3 supras i wanted something new. The rx7 doesn't feel as well built..with squeaks and just cheaper feeling overall. Its made to be light...It feels much lighter obviously when whipping it around. You could pay thousands less then a supra from purchasing from an enthusiast who has a well kept great running car with the mat. mods done...newer engine etc...buying a used beat up rx7 may cost $5k plus to get it running properly. I Sold the supra to get an FD i paid 33% less for a rx7 with almost 1/2 the mileage then the supra....goodluck..and do your research
