WA fmic problems! burning exhaust!

alright here's what happened i got a 99 spec bumper and figured eh what the hell the bumpers off anyways, might as well put my fmic on that's been sittin in my garage. so after 4 days of installation i filled up all the fluids checked all the hoses. and started it up.... nothing....then it finally started it sounded horrible like only one rotor was firing the whole car shook it'd die on its own if i didn't rev it and black-gray smoke started huffing out my exhaust. so i turned it off went to this site checked all the other peoples threads that had this problem and everybody said. ECU! so i got a pre-tuned apex'i Pfc from rx7store.net and waited for the box to get here... then when it got here i plugged everything in. started it everything was still was doing what it was before the ecu except it didn't die so i figured id drive it up the coldasack. well it made it up...then died. so my buddy pushed it back we dropped it in 2nd pulled out the clutch gave it some gas and it (after a while of jumping) started. so i drove it back up the driveway checked everything looked OK.
then my other friend tried to start it. he started it and then my friend that wasnt in the car yelled at him to turn off the car because it was flaming like the Olympic torch.
then i noticed that my downpipe was orange hot. whats wrong with my FD and what do i need to do to fix it.

the mods it has are
greddy intake
greddy fmic
hks catback exhaust

sounds more like you blew it. Especially given what you said about the idle. Did you make sure there was nothing in the IC when you installed it?

Might want to look for a qualified rotary mechanic in your area or do a compression test to rule that out.

Did you follow the installation instructions for the power fc? It sound to me like you just plugged in and started it and drove the car till it warmed up?

Theres more to it than just letting it warm up or any idle bleeder screw! You have to let it learn idle with no electrical components on for 10 min and then with the AC on for ten min and then with all the electrical components on like the defroster for ten more minutes. If I remember correctly thats how its done but I can email you instructions in English I might not remember all the steps? O plus your also suppose to remove some pins out of the USDM wiring harness that are no longer used with the power fc. Did you remove those? Let me know
