hey im looking to change all the fluids in my car mainly the transmission fluid differential fluid, and possibly clutch fluid ......for the differential is there a drain bolt and where is it.....and what kinda fluid should i use for the differential..and how do u put the fluid back in...same goes for the tranny.....as for the cluth i know there is a clutch master cylinder but how would i drain it obviously flushin it once its drainied would get it all out is there an east way to do all of this... thanks any help would be appreciated...

If you have to "ask" you probably don't have the smarts to do it.
Just cause it has a Rotary engine doesn't mean it's from Mars.
All the other parts are just like every other car out there.
The guy at Jiffy Lube can answer this one for you, cause you probably shouldn't be changing your own oil either.

dude thats harsh man it was just a question if i can change my oil pan i think i can change some damn fluids i was just wonderin the best for this car man....dont question my intellegence....this forum is for help not downing people so chill aiight

Everyone knows that FORD owns 49% of MAZDA.
So you need to go to the FORD dealer & get FORD synchromesh tranny fluid
Do a search of REDLINE & NEO (my personal choice) Oil.
The truth is out there.....................

Rear end( diff) fluid: I use Valvoline Final gear oil about a 85W i believe Gl-4 or Gl-5 rated oil. I add a GM LSD additive for my Kaaz diff
Same as above for the transmission
The clutch master cylinder fluid shares the resevoir with the brakes. So if you want to flush the system, I recommend NOT draining the master cylinder. But rather get a vaccum pump( Mighty Vac) and just pull all the old fluid thru the lines.This is done at the bleeder on the slave cylinder..
NOTE: Making sure you keep a full master cylinder. ( otherwise causing air to enter the line)
You can do the same for the brakes if desired. But a helper is handy there for watching the levels
The Tranny Drain Plug is on the bottom of the pan. The filler plug is a Square ended plug that is on the drivers side and back a little from the drain plug location. Take that out first and it will make life easier to drain the tranny
To refill. Install the drain plug,.. Then if you have a spigot pump style tool for oil. You need to pump gear oil into the tranny( 2.6US quarts) Then let it overflow until at the proper level.
The diff is fun. There are 2 plugs on the back cover. One on top, one on bottom. The bottom is the drain the top is the fill.
Remove these and the procedure is the same as teh tranny for refilling. with the exception of oil capacity(1.38 US quarts)
Brake/Clutch fluid, Use a DOT 4 or a good race fluid like castrol etc..

And it also helps to use punctuation.
BTW, most use a good synthetic that meets OEM spec. Personally I'm using Redline MT90 in my Transmission but might be changing to NEO soon.

when the fluid is overflowing when will u know that the right amount is in the tranny....im guessin when i put 2 full quarts and then .6 of the third at what point will it start to overflow
When you add the oil to the tranny , you will probably end up putting a little over full. Then when you set the car down on the ground or level on stands,.. the excess oil will drain out the filler hole until it gets to the lower level of the threads. Then the fluid is full. Or measure out exactly the amount needed in the trans and pour just that in. I personally like the security of knowing i have enough inside the tranny. By letting it overflow to the correct level

Thanks everyone for ur imput i did the change today and it went great very very simple damn that 23mm socket is a bitch to find i had to buy a 30$ set from sears just to get the damn 23 mm......i set the car up on jackstands in the front and then jacked it up in the rear from the differential to the same level the front was and that seemed to worked fine....def get an oil pump from the auto store it made a huge difference made life a lot easier can get it at advance or autozone for like 5$ tops....well good luck to everyone else who try this makes a very nice difference with shifting.....

One little gem of wisdom as a followup (from a friend helped who helped me through my first tranny and diff change):
Always make sure the fill plugs/bolts are not seized and remove them before the drain plugs. That way you never have the situation where you drain the tranny/diff and can't fill it (and can't move the car until you do).

You're spot on dude it's 24mm. Replaced Tranny and diff fluids on Saturday and it was God Damn easy. lol

I highly doubt that MRomano misled you on purpose, but thanks for setting the thread straight...homie.
it was def a 23mm socket and i had to buy a whole set to get the 23mm so they do have one but look to spending $30 to get it .....a 24mm will strip the bolt this is only for the differential bolt though....not the tranny....so this was not misleading i did the change and the 23mm fit perfectly...so im suprised that u got the 24mm on there and off without stripping it....
its cool. just make sure you be specific when giving up info. it can cause people more problems than anything. I was just frustrated. sorry if I came off wrong. I am sure you all know what I am talking about, this car can cause a bit of frustration.
