Flashing Hold Light Error code 6 "Speed Sensor 1"
Anyone else ever run into this? I have just recently put a new tranny
and torque converter in my car and everything was great until today.
I have tried the KOKO and resetting my ec-at with no success. My
fluid level is fine. I will be testing the resistance on the
connectors for everything tonight.
Any info would be great!

I had the same problem with my car. Resetting ecu does nothing. I had to take it to dealer. They fixed it. they said t e problem was a dirty O2 sensor. Possibly, a sensor may not be installed correctly on your car when you did the tranny?
The light only supposed to come on for tranny related or if the motor is misfiring somehow. supposed to prevent damage to the car.
hope that helps.

Was your a a "speed sensor 1" The hold light only flashes for problems with the tranny. I will run resistance tests on all the connectors.
Thanks,

Yes, my speedo works and so does the tach. When i jumped the GND and TAT the hold light flashed six times. According to the manual this could be two different things. the first being error code 06 "speed sensor 1 (revolution sensor) this one is for 6 short flashes. The second is error 60 "solenoid valve (shift A) this one is for 6 longer flashes. It hard to tell the difference between the two (long or short). Does anyone know any other way to tell the difference? I mean obviously if it was doing both long and short, i would be able to tell the difference. but it's not. This problem also seems to be tempramental. Meaning, that when i turn the ignition off and on the hold light is off, then when i drive about 4 miles it comes on.
Thanks,
Cody

After reading further, I have found that the speed sensor 2 is the one that controls the speedometer and if it wsa this the hold light would flash 7 times instead of 6. The manual says the following:
If there is not input signal from speed sensor 1, then service code No. 06 is displayed by the self diagnosis fucntion and hold mode is canceled.
Shifting is mad based on signals from speed sensor 2 (speedometer sensor).
If a malfunction occurs in speed sensor 1 and speed sensor 2 at the same time, the solenoid valve (shift A and B) go OFF and D and S ranges become 3rd gear position L range becomes in 2nd gear position, and lockup is inhibited.
This seems to be exactly whats its doing.

Checked the resistance for all the connectors on the tranny. Everything checked out fine. I started the car afterwards and drove over 15 miles with no flashing hold light. I then pull into my apartment complex and go over the first speedbump and boom the hold light starts flashing. I have no idea whats going on. Will a nomral obd tester pull hte tranny codes also?
Pleasy any info will help,

I dont know how reliable the "self-diagnostics" is. I have a mechanic friend who ran the a diag. machine through the diagnostic port or whatever, the thing spit out a code for the EGR valve malfunction (forget what code that was). However that wasnt close to being the problem. If all else fails, maybe you should take it to a knowledgeable fd mechanic or something?
