well, I think it's somewhat cool. Don't think I'd do it, it's certainly a personal taste, but respect for following through, just like any project.

Yea, see I can respect that, I live in central AL and there isnt anyone local to me that will even dream of working on a 13b much less build and correctly tune one. It sounds like you had some tuning issues. Its been much easier to tune one right in the last year or so. Basically every since the Datalogit came out for the PFC and everyone starting discussing in detail about tuning and what the safe settings are its been much easier. In addition to that I've talked to some VERY knowledgeable people about tuning like Steve Kan from GathamRacing.com and some folks down in Aussi. Life is much easier now with my car (knock on wood haha)

I'm running a 13b with stock seals and all that with a typical street port and upgraded stock twins. I'm running trap speeds of 125mph with a full tank of gas (100lbs of extra wieght) and granny shifting. Thats on straight 93 pump gas and no nitrous.

BUT, like I said the road had its share of bumps to get here. Its really not so bad once you spend the time to learn the rotary and what kind of tuning it likes

Cool conversion. I think you guys(your shop) specializes in sr20det's right? I can see with going with something you know very well vs. something foreign to you. Now stuff a rb26dett in there... lol (j/k)

I run et streets, and pump gas at 23 psi the only time i mix race gas is when i spray

SPO it wasn't tuning for me i have a chassis dyno and ADS wideband... I kept destroying the front bearing, they would last anywhere btween 150-400 miles and then that was it....

i do appriciate the work..and its a respectable time but i would have rather seen it in a old datsun or old 240...i like to keep things powered by the right brand....im verry fimiliar with nisssan and the sr20det...i was planning on dropping a rb25det into a s14 240...so im not hating at all...just rather keep the right car makes engines in their chassis

its a neat project, but how much did it run you to convert that over? Why an SR20 and not an RB20?

I agree with keeping with brands.. i'm a rotary guy.. just like rotary engines i guess.. tho i hate to see rx7s hacked to fit something else in them, its a cool project and it is your car.

There is still plenty of power to be had.. so it should be cool. Seems like you and Vosko have a little competition going on...

From looking at the pictures, I would guess these points:

- There's not enough space to mount the turbo between the motor and the inner fender.

- The RB20 is too long to fit a turbo between it and the radiator.

Front main bearing? Were these 5 different motors? Or the same one rebuilt, reusing some parts... sounds like a warped side housing or e-shaft or oil flow blockage

Still that sucks.... nice car... but like I allways say "to each their own"

Vosko you have all of these excuses... you may make 459hp but all that proves is your car is a dyno queen... you don't even have a diff which leads me to believe you probably have stock axles also... you should cut down on your posts and starting getting the parts for your car that you need to run a decent #.... the way i see it you have excuses lined up before you even need them..... you don't here me saying well wait until my motor is built or i am only running 23psi wait until 30... I ran what i ran and until that is bettered that is all i can say.... I am only 4 months into this project and i have already run a second faster than you... How long have you been on this board with your dyno queen for at least a year with all those posts.... What makes you think you can catch up... Good luck at the track i hope you run a decent time because i am tired of all these excuses, and at this point you are not even competition...

az_lynx: it was a new e-shaft every time, I also would replace the bearing and stationarygear that I would buy from ari so that i could not screw up pressing the new bearing in.... The housing were not warped as i had it checked twice and it was new.. I also put a new oil cooler on the car every time... i was stumped as were some other people but no biggie that is life

HAHA

the real problem is i am making more power than you and have broken MANY more upgraded parts than you and i don't own my own shop project car. i guess its easy to race when you can do this to(see PIC) an upgraded racing differential.i am not going to list the parts in my car, because i simply don't care. i also don't have a roll bar in the car yet and here in NJ you have to have a roll bar when you run under 11.99 or you get kicked off the track. don't be mad at me because your 13B couldn't muster make as much power or be as reliable as mine

gee this won't make it hard for me to race now would it

Not true! Didn't ErnieT run an entire seasons on a factory motor? Hell, tell me what the big differences are between the factory motor & a 500HP built motor since you obviously think the factory motor is weak. Moly E-shafts? Ceramic apex seals? Billet side seals?

How is it Carlos Gonzalas can hold his 13B together doing 169MPH 1/4s with factory apex seals when they are such a weak motor?

Vosko P. Cole Train, when I said "for the flamers," I didn't mean it to be for **** like you! Fuel systems don't support PSI they support HP. I saw your brother's car in Sport Compact Mag a few months back. It was the 300ZX TT that made 500++hp@wheels and ran 12.1@120mph. You and he must have used the same dyno.
