Finished... High and Low beam projector HIDs

The headlights were finished about 2 weeks ago, with high beam functionality enabled last weekend. These lights are bi-level projector HIDs that fit in the factory headlamps/pop-ups.

Check out this video http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...ZmQzMXk1NDE%3D

Beam pattern is phenominal, and output is like daylight, especially on high beam.

More videos will follow tomorrow.

And please, post some more pics. Also if you have any of the install, that would help others too.

Thanks for the compliments. I need to sort out parts and costs etc, but I think it is definately doable as a kit. Pics and more videos to follow.

Are you posting under a different name now? User "J_J" was posting stuff about a similar kit last week and even before that. Are you the same guy?

BTW: Looks very nice. Definitely interested here. How much and when I can get them?

I've seen H4 bulbs with high/low on Ebay and elsewhere. HID stuff is tricky to get now, but still doable. I've been planning on going with an HID high/low setup on my car at some point. Good to see the video - I've always heard HID works wonders with the FD.

I had a CATZ H4 high/low kit for a few years and sold it to another forum member. It worked really well and it's a shame the kit was taken off the US market and Fet pulled out. You can however still purchase the kit overseas.

That light setup is not using H4 bulbs; it is using D2S bulbs which is found on OEM vehicles. This goes beyond a simple plug-and-play HID kit...we're talking custom work here.

Fatman: What Bi-xenon projectors are you using?

Can't, if he's using a projector housing. It sounds like the D2S bulb with the retractable shield, like J_J was talking about, although there is definitely some custom fabricating involved to get it to work. I'd just like to know where I can get the bulbs and projector housings separately, without spending $600 each...

Why did you get rid of the setup, Jules?

What housings are you using, are they Hella 90mm projectors? That'a a nice cutoff, I'd like to see video of how far it illuminates down a dark road.
