Find the missing pieces in my build

I'm piecing together the rest of my build and I'm trying to figure out what I am missing. The car is already tuned by Steve Kan with these mods, so I'm just adding the "reliable" mods and will keep the tune. Later down the line, maybe I'll upgrade my injectors and so forth and get another Steven Kan tune for more power but here is what I have so far.

Streetported 3mm
Unorthodox Pulley Set
A-Spec 500R T4 Single Turbo
A-Spec Stainless Manifold
TurboSmart E Boost Controller/Gauge
Greddy Type-RS BOV
Tial 44mm Wastegate
RE-A Dual-Tip Cat-Back Exhaust System
A-Spec Down Pipe
A-Spec Mid Pipe
RX-7Store V-Mount Intercooler Kit + Modified KOYO Radiator
Greddy Throttlebody Elbow
FDNewbie Import, Dual Oil Coolers w/ Black Setrab Cores
Supra TT fuel pump
550/1300 injectors
HKS Twin Power
Exedy Clutch/flywheel
Steven Kan Tune for 14psi

So what else can I add for "reliability" I have the following for my list so far

Coolingmist trunk mount AI kit (running water only) - Already have
Turbo blanket (where can I find that?) - Have to buy
Heat wrap the downpipe (anything else I should wrap?) - Have to buy
Turbo Timer - Have to buy

Why no turbo timer?

I was thinking that I should pickup some gauges to make sure the car is running well. A/F wideband?

Your missing a 3 rotor engine J/K

It looks like you have everything to make a fast reliable engine.
I've seen some people wrapping the uim and lim too.
Im sure some one might add something tho.

A wideband is a must have...a turbo timer is really a waste of money, just don't drive like a nut then shut the car off right away.

1. i'm gonna guess you're not running the airpump anymore. if so, then an idler pulley should be added to the list for longevity of motor.
2. I'd pass on the turbo timer also.

if reliability is your main concern then you gotta work on cooling. get temperatures down.
1. alum. radiator
2. aftermarket temp guage
3. blanket for the turbo.
4. If the mani/dp are coated then don't get wrapping. if they're not, then wrap.
5. Heat sleaving for any/all rubber hoses near the turbo area.

I own both a Stage 3 S4 and this FD and I don't boost the cars until oil temp is at the right temp and I do not boost the last 5 minutes before turning the car off. And then even when I pull into the garage or parking spot, I wait ~30 seconds just incase and turn the car off. Are those driving habits fine to not need a turbo timer?

So far the list I now have is

Coolingmist trunk mount AI kit (running water only) - Already have
Turbo blanket (where can I find that?) - Have to buy - Estimated cost: ~$150
Heat wrap for the downpipe, LIM/UIM (do you know how much I'd need to buy to have that done?) - Have to buy - Estimated cost: ~$150?
A/F Wideband - Any suggestions on which one to get? Estimated cost: ~$300?

I'm guessing I should add some gauges, but I don't know where I am going to mount them. I already have my 60mm single pod on the A-pillar and that holds my TurboSmart E Boost Controller/Gauge. Is there any 3 60mm A-pillar pod for our car? I could hold the boost/controller, wideband and then another gauge.

Thanks Grimple, 1. Koyo radiator is aluminum radiator so I'm good there. 2. What temp gauge should I get? Oil, EGT, etc. 3. Already plans on buying a turbo blanket. 4. Already plans on wrapping the manifolds/dp 5. I'll look into heat sleeves for hoses.

Here is what my engine bay looks like right now

Don't use heat wrap (esp on the intake manis), look into ceramic coating. We have a GB about to end right now, you can still take advantage of it:

Rich, I was going through your thread last night and saw your heat blanket for the LIM. It looked good and I was thinking about picking one up, do you mind PM'ing me the cost? I'll go back into your build thread to get the contact information. How has it been for you?

Data...

AIT sensor relocated and swapped for the triumph fast acting unit

dual digital EGT gauges (probes placed pre turbo)

new knock sensor (Mitsubishi evoX knock sensors are phenominal, but I'm not sure it will fit a REW block, bur at least a fresh OEM knock sensor would be a great addition)

oil catch tank w/ breather

swirl pot/ surge tank

fuel rails/ injectors (calculate injector to accomidate for race fuel or E85)

excessive LIM

Marren FPD

proper coatings/ wraps

AI

ducting

fans

data aqusition

tuning notes, to know what your looking for, and what to expect (don't rely on someone's reputation...)

ignition... (FC coils and hks twin power @ the least)

circle earth grounding kit

new harness (check for resistance, if not within tolerance, replace with new unit)

Sorry for not getting in touch, I didn't come into this thread again until just now

The heat blanket alone isn't enough, the ceramic coating is where it's at..... also, I was referring to ceramic'ing the really important parts, like the turbine housing, downpipe, and exhaust manifold.

get you some block off plates to get rid of the item you are not using, like EGR and the pipe that went to air pump from the back of the block.

Oh yeah check the fuel pump re-wiring thread.

Bumping to the top

So far I've picked up a turbo blanket

Someone is selling jet-coated UIM and LIM. Should I pick those up or is it even worth the money?

Trying to figure my gauge setup, I have a 60MM single pod TurboSmart E Boost controller/gauge. I want to run a triple pod on my a-pillar but I don't want to lose my Turbosmart gauge since it plays a controller and gauge for me. Any suggestions for gauge holders as well as gauges.

Bump

I am buying my gauges tonight, I've waited long enough, going with Defi BF gauges

I am getting Boost for sure and then I don't know what else. I'm basically debating between water temp, oil temp, oil pressure and fuel pressure, which are the important ones out of those 4 and why?

I have a PFC so I can read my Duty Cycle, Water Temp, and Intake temp off of that

From what I've read, fuel pressure gauge is useless if I have a wideband A/F which I will be getting so that is out of the mix.

Oil pressure is useless as or stock gauge works fine and we don't have many problems with oil pressure.

So that leaves EGT gauge and Oil temp.

I can either run Boost and one of those gauges along with a 60MM wideband a/f gauge in a 3 pillar pod (is there a 60MM pod?) or run a different setup. Either center console gauges or the possibilities are endless.

I don't use a turbo timer, not a super needful item.

Wideband is a good idea, I'm looking to pick one up in the near future.

Just ordered a 3 pod a-pillar replacement.

Going to dremel them out to fit 60MM so I may end up keeping my E-boost gauge/controller but I just feel like it'd look weird with that gauge and then everything else Defi but then again, my wideband won't be Defi.
