How about doing some growing up, there? Did you ever consider that those words are part of my regular vocab? Probably not.

I didn't bother posting to insult your car, I posted to point out that whining about people not liking your car was pretty silly. I rarely bother to post in these "hey, look at my car" threads.

There's only one reason people post threads like yours -- ego stroking. That's not a slam against you, it's just human nature. I've posted pics of my car too. But you have to be mature enough and have enough self-esteem to handle negative criticisms about your car, especially when your car has been made "different" like yours.

I understand that you bought a car that had been massacred by the previous owner and you are fixing things. I think that's great. At the same time, you have to realize that many people think the changes to your car are in bad taste, and that by posting a thread, people are going to comment.

Good luck fixing up your car. I hope you enjoy driving it, and I'm not saying that sarcastically.

Going to polish everything in the engine bay in the future? why not keep the theme in the engine bay a solid yellow? I would change the strut to black then polish the ends (just to blend in with the black/polish under the hood). maybe optima yellow top batt too do they make vac hoses in yellow? anyways..my r2 wing is going for sale sometime soon.. the steering wheel may be going on sale sometime soon as well..

While you may not appreciate the comments, deep down, people really do mean well. They're just trying to help you avoid having one of those ridiculous Fast and the Furious-inspired messes that people point at and laugh when they go by. You don't want pictures of your car to show up on someone's "ricer" page, do you?

And while I'm on the subject... the kid down the street called. He wants the parts from his Erector Set back.
Nice response Jimlab... I agree. Sorry man, not feeling your car. It saddens me to see a ruined FD

Sorry, but I had to laugh at that one, even if it's harsh

Respectfully, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That being the reason I had posted pics in the first place, to hear some of those opinions. I was happy to hear what everyone's thoughts were but in the end I frankly don't care how ugly, ruined, or out of place my car looks or seems. I love my car and really wasn't lookin for any approvals. So for those who feel I am devaluing their car w/ the way mine looks, I just wanted to say sorry. Maybe you should try buying a different car b/c I am going to continue to do what I want when i want w/ my car. Key words being MY CAR.

The engine bay is pretty dirty. Try some Castrol Super clean. Rinse it with water first, spray Super clean on everything, wash w/rag and rinse.

Becareful to not leave it on the engine compartment paint very long (10 min). Also once you polish the aluminum you won't want to use it on that either.

That'll go a long way to making the engine bay look good, most people should try the same thing.

Haven't taken the time to clean it, but you are right it needs to be done. I'm in there working about every weekend so I just steered clear of cleaning it. Appreciate the tip.

It's your car do what you want. Imo, I would have bitch slapped the previous owner as soon as he forked over the title and keys . Though, I understand how things can just grow on you. Anyway, I say that while you have that monstrosity of a wing -- go put it to use and do some top-end runs...

It would be better if you removed the cheap parts. It hurts me to see how the cym body was drilled into in order to fit that spoiler. Its a gut wrenching pain.

It is your car, and other's opinions should not matter. True it makes one angry, however the path to ultimate success is different for each man. If you truly possess spirit of hot rodding, the answer will be made apparent to you soon enough.

Do not disgrace the legend of yellow 7.

Simple Green Automotive works very well on the engine bay and it won't hurt the paint! Jeff's right though, you don't want to use any of this stuff on polished aluminum (unless you like repolishing it ).

You sound like the characters in those Japanese animations my 12 yr old son likes to watch. Do you take a stance in front of the mirror with both hands on your hip before you post...or after?
