no worries

Pearlyellow,

When did you get your car? About 2 years ago there were about 4 7's in Omaha. Mine, two of my budies from the AF, and one that this engineering student had over in Council Bluffs, that he bought from a guy in Omaha.

Riding flat out in the corn fields and autocrossing was about the only fun thing to do till the track in Iowa opened up. They have open track days pretty often, you should definitively check it out.

Currently in Ohio, but moving to Lexington early summer.

Your wing, if you like it, that's enough. Don't live for others.

I like the transponder on the rear window. "Pearl yellow this is houston tower. Squawk two niner niner zero. Turn left towards heading one eight zero. Descend and maintain two five zero zero."

LMFAO, nice one. Not put very nicely but good save w/ the "good for you" : ) Almost everyone hates the wing, I knew that before I posted on here. I used to hate it more than anyone, unfortunately it has grown on me. It will like I said go eventually, I just would rather have a wing for now. This being said we can all stop commenting on the wing. I know about the wing, lol. How about my sub and amp in the trunk, anyone like that. I was pretty proud of it, unfortunately it's been overlooked b/c all this talk of the wing. BTW galognu I got my car about a year ago and I have been over 2 the midamerica track. I have met up w/ one other FD owner here in Omaha, would be nice to meet others.

Exactly ^

FWIW, I can vouch for Jeff buying the car and talking about the wing, but as he said, there were/are other priorities. The previous owner neglected alot of repairs and maintenance in favor of the cosmetic stuff that is bringing the criticism.
Personally, I prefer the stock look all around, but I don't think the lens look bad with the yellow.

FYI, The engineering student was/is poss (formerly ISUposs). He's still on the forum but just got out of OCS and is down at Robins AFB. Good guy.
There are still 5 or 6 of us in the Metro area with FDs.

For the record, I didn't get the cover from pep boys. I got it from O'Reily Auto parts, c'mon ppl get it straight : ). As for how it's running, great. Ran a low 8 on the 1/8 mile track and that was w/ my wonderfully blown turbos (among other technical problems i was having). The turbos being one of things a little higher on my priority list, to be done here in about a month BTW.

Nice catch, that definately would have come back to bite ya. Actually I would like to go but I haven't heard any info on it. I haven't really looked into it b/c I probably couldn't afford to go.

It's not expensive and there will likely be a couple hundred of the last remaining fds there. Look it up in the forum

Unhappy

The car is nice except the ugly steering wheel cover... the clear lenses and the wing .. but car looks clean and it's yours, so you do what you like with it.

Oooo...You're tempting me now!

Well, as opposed to being a dick, I will now say things I like about your car:

JK!

I happen to think the paint looks great, especially considering it's dirty. I also like your 99spec tails as well as the yellow stitching in the shift boot. Furthermore, I think the way the Amp is set in the trunk is really clean.

While you may not appreciate the comments, deep down, people really do mean well. They're just trying to help you avoid having one of those ridiculous Fast and the Furious-inspired messes that people point at and laugh when they go by. You don't want pictures of your car to show up on someone's "ricer" page, do you?

And while I'm on the subject... the kid down the street called. He wants the parts from his Erector Set back.
