^^thats why they're called accidents, you dont know when they're gonna happen

so just because you get lucky a few times, dont be so cocky, it might happen soon and usually its a big one.. lets pray to god that doesnt happen..

I like to race plenty, but not on public streets or stoplight racing. It's called being responsible. It's a tough concept to grasp.

Ok well, as long as you don't PLAN on being in an accident, I guess that makes it OK huh? I don't think there's too many people who actually plan them.

Not hardly afraid to have fun, but we know when and where it's appropriate. Have fun, enjoy it. And when you smash your car, get a reckless driving ticket, whatever, think then about who's immature because it's not us. There's a reason your insurance is probably 5x what mine is, it's called being 18.

That saids it all, if you want to have fun and reliablity there is no shame in getting a civic, 240, blah blah... Just remember you have to pay to play.

Hate to sound like an old fart, but street racing is just plane stupid, and NO ONE ever PLANS on having an accident. Street racing puts you in danger, and more importantly, innocent people in danger, and unless you've been karting since you were 5 and been to Skip Barber's Racing school, I highly doubt you have the driving skill and experience to keep a stock FD under control for very long. There's nothing wrong with you getting the car, but you have to respect it, and find another outlet for driving fast. Join the SCCA and start doing some autocross, or find a local track to do drag racing where you'll get timeslips and proof of your kills.

Wow, dude, no offense- you are starting to sound more immature and irresponsible every time you post. I don't blame you for being excited about getting the car- hell, I am 31 and just got my third FD (not all at once ) and was still just as excited as I was getting the first one!! I do play around at times on the street but I don't talk about it like The Fast and The Furious is a way of life. You sound like you are an accident waiting to happen. Which to be honest would be a shameful waste of a beautiful car- you would get what is coming to you so no remorse there... Just be careful and learn to respect your car and others before running your mouth like a punk kid. There is another thread here where a 16 year old was looking to buy an FD and he was one of the most mature 16 year olds I have ever seen post- maybe he should be an example for you to follow.

Oh yeah, and bragging about being on mommy's insurance is only making things look worse for you. You'll understand one of these days- I hope...

Me? Nah. It's all about their attitude. I rarely bother someone unless they are blatenly ignorant. Buying an FD to street race, and bragging about being under mommy's insurance is just too easy. I'm waiting for JimLab to chime in now

the money for the car is all coming out of my pocket i just need some help on the insurance and i will still be paying that. I also have a 97 blazer that i'm paying for with this rx7 so i'll take all the help i can get.

you guys may live in a heavily trafficed area but i don't and when we "setup" a race it's out on a black top road in the middle of a corn field with absolutely no cars.

Thats how we did it in FL also when we were younger. Street racing is never 100% safe and some people are 100% against it, but at least do it as respectfully as you can if and when you do. The way you were running your mouth you sounded like the typical "about to wrap his car around a pole" ricer. I still think you are a bit too immature and are at risk of hurting yourself and/or others.

if you plan on racing it, you better plan on geting 2 jobs and saving all your earnings over the winter.
make sure you plan out how you want to upgrade things before you 'paint yourself into a corner' and find you bought stuff you didnt need.

congrats on the car.

look, i didn't mean going out every night racing around town, just going out and having fun with friends some nights, just like everybody else on this site. you guys take **** WAY out of proportion.

i hate the "The Fast and Furious" bullshit just as much as you.

you live and learn. some of you may be 80 years old now, but you were young and dumb just like everybody else.

so did you get it yet, and yes I use to be that way too, racing everything on the road I could find, It was fun then and I was lucky enough that nothing happened while doing that.

I'm preety sure that majority of the people here went through that and just wont admit it.

Its usually people like that, that always brag that they are the **** and the village Andretti's and whatnot. When invited to track (no, not a strip, stop confusing them please ), they find a bunch of excuses not to go. The stopwatch does not lie

Race on prepared surfaces. Streets are too unpredictable.
That does not mean to step on it from time to time, but be aware consequences can be costly.

That is pretty cheap -- I take it your name/age won't be listed on your mom's insurance at all.

I go pick up the car tonight. Little nervous about driving it in the city, i havent driven stick in a town with more that 25,000 ppl. The place where i pick up the car is the capitol of Nebraska and there are a lot of ppl. My name won't be on the insurance at all. I have a 97 blazer and my name is on that so i dont have to have my name on this car in order to drive it, but if i get in an accident that is my fault the insurance has to go under my name and i will pry be looking to sell the car lol. There pry are a lot of ppl that like to race on here but they don't admit it cause they found out how they reacted to everything i said. Oh well i'll live i wont take any of it to personally.
