My current filler cap seal has broken (not the AST cap). Could I use a regular radiator cap and just remove the valve spring as a replacement while I order a new one. How sells a filler cap and whats the price.

 

Autozone sells the caps.

I asked Autozone and CSK auto parts they only have a listing for the AST cap not the filler cap. Do you happen to have the part #.

 

Stant 11242 is the 16 lbs one. They should be able to look up the 13 lbs one for you.

 

Advance/Discount auto has the filler cap, (the one without the pressure spring and seal) you can also use a pressure one if you want by removing the bottom most seal (it won't build any pressure) The one at Discount is made by Stant and should work fine since it is just a seal and doesn't build any pressure (even though it has to hold system pressure) 3 or 4 bucks IIRC.

 

I checked Advanced Auto and they didnt have the filler cap.
