OK so I bought this 93 model last week wednesday to be exact. I noticed the car kinda falls off in first gear but pulls strong in every other, so I hooked up a boost gauge and the boost pattern in 1st is like 10 5 2 Then the rest of the gears are fine. OK so today I am going to the mall and I ran 1st out and whoa It finally boosted a normal pattern 10 8 10 So to my suprise I tried it again and 10 8 10 again 10 8 10 Then I park at the mall. When I leave the the car is back to the old way 10 5 2 What could the problem be? Has anyone seen something like this before?
Are you talking about normal operating temp on the stock guage? Actually the engine is still cold at that point, wait a few more minutes after the stock guage reaches "normal" temp.
Otherwise check the connections to and from the pressure tank on top of the motor right behind the alternator. If those are good check all the check valves, specifically the one on that tank. You should be able to blow through the check valve (barely) one way and not the other.

like I stated it only does it only in 1st. if it were any of those problems I would think it would do it in every gear. this is going to be a 1st gear secondary turbo prob. I have been driving it for a week now I drove the car home 300 miles so I'm saying it does it hot or cold.
Well if the check valve is leaking then you might lose the pressure in the tank but after you run it through 1st then the tank builds some pressure and the other turbo comes on. If you completely unplug the line(s) on that pressure tank the 2nd turbo will still come on but it will come on sort of slowly.
There is also a 1st/2nd gear switch on the trans, make sure that is working per the manual. I wouldn't think that was your problem though but you never know.

i'm from where you are, and i never see you around. i usually head down the hill into the valley, mostly when i want to go out and eat.

I have a similar problem....let me know what you find out.
After I replaced the precat over the winter, I was 10-8-10 on all gears (damn, talk about happiness). Now I'm back to 10-5-8 or whatever, but it's lower in first.
Car has 62,xxx miles.....could my main cat have clogged that quickly?
