cold air intake

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to make a cold air intake for my FD.
I've seen schematics of one online a long time ago.
Now I can't remember where.
I think it was an M2 or something. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this.

thanks in advance.

Jupiter,

Just buy Two 3x6" cylinder type K&N's($70bucks) and cut a sheet of aluminum to fit between the radiator and the K&N's for a heat sheild. I also ran some 3" ducting to force air from the front of the car directly into the K&N's.

I don't know that I've ever seen schematics, but robinette's instructions are at:

http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/coldair.htm

If you keep the box, you get less noise.

There is no such thing as cold air in an engine bay unless your ducting it in there like a moe and its January.
Throw some K&N's on there and fashion a duct if you can. Then call it a day.

So you're saying your PFS intake or M2 is still not a real cold air?
I'm thinking of making one because I have the facility to do it.

Check My photos in the Gallery
https://www.rx7club.com/photo/index....humb=1&cat=500

shows my stock airbox mods - sources all its air from in front of the radiator - about as cold as you can get. and including the K&N filter it can be done for less than $65

Cold air comes from the front of the car

The PFS "IS" cold air
Stock is cold air ('99 JSpec has seperate duct)
Stock/ Racing Beat is cold air
KnightSports is cold air
CWest (requires type II bumber) is cold air

M2, CWR & Tri piont is warmer but not cold.

Pettit, Blitz are even warmer but add a heat shield.

Apexi, HKS, Sard,Greddy,Amaiya etc are hot air.

The JSpec HKS hugs the fender and takes advatage of cold air from a headlight cover scoop. How much cold air it actually gets, who knows.
