Few issues with my transmission
Just got my car back working! I finally have boost!!!!
Anyway, I took it out to do some pulls and a few times i tried to shift it into 3rd while at high RPM's it just grinded. Happened almost every time. I'm thinking new transmission fluid might solve this? Or is it another issue??
Also, I grind slightly every time going into 5th. The dreaded 5th gear syncro I'm guessing.
And lastly, Sometimes i cannot get my car into reverse. It feels like there is something blocking me from shifting it into that gear. Every other gear works fine but not Reverse. If i move the car forward a fair bit it seems to fix the issue. What could this be?
Thanks!

First, the reverse problem. Does it shift ok if you back out into neutral, clutch out/in, and try again? This is common.
If that doesn't solve it, then it's not normal. Your busted 5th synchro could well be getting in the way of the reverse stuff.
Bad shifts to 3rd suggest synchro or gear dog mesh problems. Does it shift better if you double-clutch it?
Easiest thing is to put in a GL-4 oil like Redline MT-90 or Amsoil MTG and see what that does. What kind of oil is in there now?

Sounds like the synchro for 3rd is going out as well in ur case...good luck man 5th gear jobs arent cheap

Hey it's Charlie, I was the guy working on your car with Dan. We drove your car several times and had no problems shifting into any gears, and we backed the car out of the garage at least 7-10 times with no problems. Just make sure you have the clutch depressed all the way and don't try to row the gears as fast as possible. If you can't get into reverse, let the clutch out, push it back in and try again. Also the previous owner of the car put in some sound supression material under the carpet in the car, specifically under the carpet where the driver's feet go. If I were you I would take this OUT, as it prevented me from putting the gas pedal all the way down until I pulled the carpet back and fixed it. I forgot to tell Dan to talk to you about that.

HAHA Dan I never said i fixed the problem myself! (Props to Dan and Charlie, they do awesome work!!!!!)
I will prolly remove that material tomorrow and see if it fixes the issue. As for the reverse, it is really random. I had the clutch to the floor when trying to get it into reverse every time. I let up off the clutch and tried again no luck. So for now i just back my car in first so i dont have to worry about backing up.
As for the 3rd gear, i kinda figured out how to get it to go in without grinding if im trying to shift at high speeds. But something is wrong with it, idk...
