For all you guys who daily drive your FD!

I know it might sound crazy but as much of a performance freak as I am I decided to go for some peace and quiet without robbing horsepower...

I ordered Q-mat a sound mat blocker. I must say it works awesome! It added about 20lbs all together but I managed to cover my whole hatch under the bins, whole trunk floor. 1/3 of the interior firewall, the whole tranny tunnel COVER not wall, both doors and some misc panels and even some patches of the fenders and rebars. I got to say it cut out about 75-80% of the droning on decel and about 30-40% sound reduction on accel WOT (unfortunately)... However it was worth it. This stuff not only absorbs sound but vibration and creeps/rattles your FD likes to give especially with a tight suspension. I have no more creeking at all. I'm running touring springs and an R1 strut bar other wise stock for suspension.

Fyi Exhaust I'm running a Pettit 3 straight downpipe - Stock mid - Racing beat DT CB. Even though it's a quiet exhaust in general this cut out almost all sound from the tranny and rear at idle till 3k+ then some noise. I wouldn't recommend as much as I used but to do it to the doors it's def and the rear area of the trunk and hatch which is about 6-10lbs. I took 6 a bunch of 6 inch circles and placed them around the fenders as well as the rear quarters and it killed almost all vibration. in them.

I ordered this much you don't even need 1/2 Imo ~ http://www.amazon.com/Deadener-Vibra...4KV11ZRPZCAH59

Yea, That was the main reason it really does kill the creeks. As far as exhaust I only like to hear it when the windows open and wot! Unless it's high speed then I'm not really focusing on the exhaust note.

Sorry man didn't take really pix but I'll snap a couple of the material and some spots that are easy to access.

Like I said I didn't do it as much for the exhaust note but more for the vibration. It really does kill 95-100% of the creeks and vibrations in general. + The bose sounds amazing even though that system is a ******* bitch to take out when wanting to go cruising...

The Touring models came with extra sound deadening material which added a little bit of extra weight. I always wondered where they put it and what it looks like? You'd have to compare it to a Base or R-model to find out.

your never gonna muffle the sound of your exhaust completely. plus u can always crack your window if u wanna here it that bad.
but to get rid of all the creaks and squeaks might make it worth it
