FEED Fresh Air Headlight Covers

Does anyone know of anyone that has any FEED headlight covers left? Looks like all the stores I know to check are sold out.

Are they even worth it? Looks nice on the silver car you see in so many pictures, but I've never seen one in real life. Don't know if I'm just wasting my time trying to even track one down.

Stupid stock headlight cover got brittle, broke, and flew off on the highway so I want to do something quickly. Amazing how shitty it looks without it on there.......

If you would like to get one directly from FEED I can get you one, shipping will take 3-10 days depending on how fast you want it.

Now if it is worth it or not, it depends on if you like the style for one. It will induce cooler air into the engine bay and your intake.

Awesome! I haven't had any luck with the usual RX7 companies. Something about FEED having problems... Let me wait and see if anybody responds to my post in the classifieds, but if I don't hear anything in the next few days, I'll probably take you up on that. Any idea the approximate cost?

Thanks!

When you have it painted to match, IMHO, ask that be prepped just as if they're painting a bumper cover and use a flex additive.

Thanks for the tip. I'm afraid when I get this thing painted it's going to look better than my car and then THAT'S going to look funny...

I emailed rotaryextreme but never got a response. I couldn't tell from their website that they had them. I'll check again. Thanks!

FEED headlight cover

Also- when the headlights are on, the FEED cover is translucent, so it will glow somewhat in whatever color you paint it. The stock cover does not allow light to pass.

Have one on my silver car, it is cracking, and with all the wires behind the intake hole, I think the extra fresh air is negligable. Looks kinda cool, but don't know if it was worth the extra $60 over the stocker..

Dang, that's interesting. I definintely wouldn't have expected it to be translucent OR to crack, with it costing over twice as much as a stocker. Of course on the other hand my stock one's mounts got brittle and snapped off on their own so it's not like it's particularly well designed either I suppose...

I appreciate the input!

They are made to go with the air intake, hence why you only see them on the passenger side.

Just to add, stock ones are $70 shipped from Malloy. I just had to buy my drivers side one, but my passenger side one is broken too, so I figure I might as well do both at once since they have to be painted......

Thinking about just trying to fiberglass the **** out of the passenger side one for now and see if that'll strengthen it enough.... Anybody tried just repairing one?

That really depends on where yours broke at. If it was where the screws are on the cockpit side of the cover, you can usually JB Weld those (not the JB Weld for metal). Once that dries, you can build up some more JB Weld around the base of the screw mounts to make it more sturdy.

I do not know where you are getting this from. Are you sure you did not get a knock off? The original FEED was fiberglass and then they switched to Black ABS plastic.

They should be as strong as oe covers.

I am sure some water makes its way in there, but you actual intake kit/filter should not be sucking in air. Does it matter? You have an ever bigger wole in the front nose, and nothing covering the underside from the engine cradle back. Water is not going to hurt the engine.

I was thinking to build a box for the intake, and have a duct goign to the front bumper. I'm pretty sure if its raining it would mess up the car wouldn't it, all that rain being sucked up into the filters?
