Fd's In The Winter...why!?
well its a given that i have a passion for these's cars and would never drive mine in the snow. there used to be a local cym r1 owner that did this for years and everytime i'd see him beasting around in the winter i wanted to cry. well now i got my own fd and the fc if not sold soon for winter even thought i hate to do it to that aswell
I agree with you on this, but this topic has been covered a bunch of times. lol. I guess the only problem that driving the FD in the winter would cause is a possibility of wrecking it. You dont really have to worry about the body rusting out. The only time my car has ever seen snow is when we were driving home from Rotary Revolution and for some ungodly reason it decided to snow. Mind you this was at the beginning of May.

Well, i haven't had mine long enough to drive in the snow...but becasue i live with my parents they will prob. force me to drive it in the snow rather then letting me "borrow" one of their numerous cars.

you better get some good all season or snow tires if you plan to make it through snow. Also, handle the throttle as if there was an egg between it and your foot. These cars are easy to lose control in just cold weather from the tires not sticking to the ground, let alone a nice layer of snow or ice under them.

My cousin had chains on his 350Z, they were straight useless. I think chains are no substitute for a good set of snow tires (maybe a combination of the 2 even).
On another note, i drove my father's TII in the snow through a parking lot full of 10 inch deep snow to get it on the trailer when he bought it. It had studded snow tires on the rear that were actually quite good at cutting through the snow.

my FD is my DD so driving in the winter will have to fly. it never snows down here just gets to a low of about 30 degrees but never snows i think i'll be alright. i just have to cut down on the WOT runs b/c of the really cold air.

If i were u i would cut down completely on the WOT runs. Unless your tuned pig rich to begin with. Or your running a fairly stock car with stock ecu.
I never felt that daily driving the fd was ever a good idea, but to each his own.
