FD3S A/C Blower motor not working
FD3S A/C Blower motor not working
NEED HELP.......
To start I never had working A/C in the car. However, my Blower motor always worked fine.
Just recently the a/c Blower motor stop working. It doesn't matter what speed I put it in, it does not kick on at all.
I tried searching on the forums/online but could not find any information aside from the Power FC A/C MOD (which I haven't done).
At first, I thought it was the Blower motor itself that went bad so I ordered a USED A/C Blower motor from TOMS and swapped it in. It still does not work. I verify that the Blower motor work by testing it with a battery and it kicked on fine. (RULED OUT THE NEW BLOWER MOTOR)
Next, I checked the relay located in the front FUSE box (A/C RELAY) and swapped it with another relay to test. The Blower motor still doesn't come on. (RULED OUT THE A/C RELAY)
I am trying to figure out what else controls the Blower motor and what would prevent it from kicking on.
When the car is on/off, I tested the fan speed switch to see if I can turn on the secondary fans using the a/c button, it worked fine. I also verified that the secondary fan turns on via the HALTECH ESP.
I need help figuring out why the A/C Blower motor won't kick on.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!!

There is a blower motor resistor that's in the lower part of the blower motor housing. When you turn on the AC, speeds 1-3 need less than 12v to run the fan at a lower speed so they go through the resistor. Speed 4 is straight 12v to the blower.
I would start with that resistor and the wiring to it. Should be some troubleshooting in the shop manual. You should see voltage at that connector when you turn on the fan.
The AC Relay under the hood is, I THINK, just for the AC compressor itself, but I could be wrong. Again, shop manual and wiring diagrams.

Thanks Dale!,
Problem solved. It was the REAR WIPER FUSE that was not connected. Somehow the rear wiper connection is tied to the Blower Motor according to the wiring diagrams.
But I will be replacing the resistor......
Thanks again.

Dale, I am 90% sure my resistors went bad based on the wiring diagram and what I have ruled out. The question is can I access the resistors from underneath the dash without removing the glovebox? (I can't access the passenger side of my car at the moment to check)
