So here we go, well this started Friday, I had no problems, well that really mattered. So I bought some new tires and rims to go on her and well it seems that they killed her. Car started perfectly well forever, now after I put the new rims and tires on she does not want to start. I literally put them on and then drove to our hobby shop to look at this radiator leak that came out of nowhere. I put her on a drive up lift looked and said "****" and well tried to take her off the lift and nothing. I have a perfectly good battery and well I turn the key and get absolutely nothing. No crank just some normal beeping and nothing. I tried putting a screwdriver against the positive and negative post on the starter and still had nothing. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or something I could use to figure out this issue?

It's a 1994 r1 if that matters.

 

So the car doesn't crank but the accessories come on when you turn the key? Possible relay problem described in this tread:

Well everything works, just won't crank. I can roll windows up and down all day. I can also push start her, had to do that yesterday to get her back from the hobby shop.

 

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key? I'd check the ignition switch, clutch switch, security interlock and starter relay.

Well I completed the security relay bypass. Sadly that didn't fix the issue. I also bypassed the clutch safety as well. If anyone else has any ideas on what it could be I appreciate the assistance. If no one has anymore ideas I guess I'll pull my starter off the other FD and see if thats my issue.

 

Did you hear the tires rub on any turns?

if you bridged the connections on the starter with power applied to it and nothing happened then the starter is dead. try hitting the starter with a mallet while someone turns the key. if that does nothing for you then your starter is dead. one thing you can check to be 100% positive is if the power is even getting to the starter. put a multimeter on the power wire and see if you get anything when the key is turned.

But as another guy suggested, look under the front wheel arches for any signs of rubbing between the new tires and the plastic inner fenders....

FYI you can change the brushes in the starter motor for about $5, and 30 mins of time.
You don't need a new one. They are easily repairable. Plenty of how-to's on youtube etc.

 

Did you get it sorted? Sounds like the black wire on the starter solenoid might have knocked loose when driving on the ramps.
