FD seat brackets

I just finished rebuilding my first FD but I've come across a small problem. I'm almost too short to drive it . I've already searched the forum and I've only found threads on how to modify the brackets to suit taller drivers. Does anyone know if there is a way to modify the brackets so that the seat can move about half an inch more forward or if there is one that I can swap it out with? I can drive the car but it's not very comfortable. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

First off if you don't have something helpful to say then you can refrain from posting. Remember this is a tech section and not the lounge.

Second, Rotorchick is 5'4" and 100lbs.

Does anyone know if there are pre-made seat brackets that will allow the seat to move further forward? Or is fabricating our own brackets the only solution? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I'v never heard of any brackets to move the seat further up. Maybe you could get an aftermarket side mount bucket seat and mount the seat all the way forward.

Or you could just drive in platform heels???

It sucks because we have the cloth base seats that look brand new in this car. And she can drive it, but she has to stretch to get the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. It's more of a comfort issue for her than it is a non-driveable issue. And we're trying not to do anything that will hinder me when I want to drive it. Being 6'2" is enough fun with these cars.

Since you also want to drive the car, what about for her trying to use a removable pad against the back of the seat that moves her an inch or so forward. Probably she would still end up with plenty enough thigh support from the seat.

The clutch does have a long travel to the floor. I find it myself that when I am in my most comfortable position with the other pedals, I need to really extend to push the clutch all the way into the floor. Of course, if your clutch is adjusted with minimum free-play you really DO NOT need to push it all the way to the floor. Only enough to disengage.

I am only 5'1" which is quite a bit shorter and make it but just by a hair. I am definately more comfortable in shoes with thicker sole. I do really recommend a lumbar cushion. Not only are they comfortable but a hell of alot cheaper and less trouble to go through. You can fit it in the rear bin when it is not in use. I own an Excursion as my daily driver and have the same issue especially on long trips.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'll probably look into the lumbar cushions. It's funny that I didn't think of it before, I use one at my desk at work. Thanks again everyone!
